The Dong Nai Province’s Land Fund Development Centre is carrying out land clearance of rubber plantations for construction of the Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh section of the western North–South Expressway.

To implement the above-mentioned project, approximately 58 hectares of rubber land must be recovered. Of this, about 23 hectares are under the management of Phu Rieng Rubber Co., Ltd. The Bu Dang-based Land Fund Development Centre has conducted inventory, prepared compensation records, and sent out a draft compensation and support plan for feedback.
Around 22 hectares are managed by Binh Phuoc Rubber Co., Ltd. The Dong Phu-based Land Fund Development Centre has conducted an enumeration of land and asset, prepared compensation documents, and submitted the compensation plan to the Dong Tam commune People’s Committee for approval. The remaining land belongs to Dong Phu Rubber Joint Stock Company. The Dong Xoai-based Land Fund Development Centre has carried out a survey of land and asset and sent a document requesting the company to provide additional dossiers as the basis for formulating a compensation plan.

At the working session with the three above-mentioned companies on September 12, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Ho Van Ha requested that rubber land recovery be conducted swiftly and synchronously. The objective is to achieve 30 per cent of cleared land by September 30, 70 per cent by December 30, and that 100 per cent of the land recovery must be completed before the Lunar New Year 2026.
The Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh section of the western North–South Expressway has a total length of over 124km, including more than 101km traversing Dong Nai province and about 23km passing through Lam Dong province. The route is designed with six lanes, a width of over 32 metres, and a maximum designed speed of 120km/h. The total investment is estimated at nearly VND 26 trillion.
On August 19, 2025, Dong Nai province held the groundbreaking ceremony for Component Project 1, with a total investment of nearly VND 20 trillion, aiming for completion and operation by 2027.
