On the afternoon of September 12, a representative of the Office of Road Management Zone IV under the Vietnam Road Administration announced that around early October 2025, the unit will launch an emergency repair project to address damage to bridge surfaces and approach roads at Bridge 893 in Tho Son Commune, resurface PanToong Bridge in Nghia Trung Commune, and repair the concrete expansion joint at Bridge No. 2 in Binh Phuoc Ward. All three bridges are located along National Highway 14 in Dong Nai Province.

In recent times, due to storms and heavy rainfall, several sections of National Highway 14 running through Binh Phuoc Ward, Bu Dang Commune, and Tho Son Commune in Dong Nai Province have severely deteriorated. To ensure traffic safety, Road Management Zone IV has implemented repair packages covering the stretch from the center of Bu Dang Commune to Tho Son Commune, and from Bridge No. 2 to the Binh Phuoc roundabout.

However, aside from the sections already approved for repair, several other locations have also deteriorated severely. These include the surface of Bridge 893, its approach roads, the surface of PanToong Bridge, and the expansion of Bridge No.2. In particular, the 15-meter-long surface of Bridge 893 has multiple spots where reinforced concrete is exposed, as the asphalt layer has peeled off, creating deep, uneven holes.

Most vehicles are forced to move slowly to avoid scraping or striking against the bridge. In addition, the two approach sections to Bridge 893, each about 30 meters long, have also been heavily damaged, with many potholes and deep, dangerous holes.

Between Km892+700 and Km892+800 in Son Phu Hamlet, Tho Son Commune, the road surface continues to deteriorate severely, with jagged potholes filled with sharp stones, posing risks of traffic accidents.

In response to the situation, the People's Committee of Tho Son Commune and the Dong Phu Traffic Police Station under the Traffic Police Division of Dong Nai Provincial Police have issued documents requesting Road Management Zone IV to instruct contractors to accelerate the progress of approved repair projects. At the same time, they called for repairs at Bridge 893 and other deteriorated locations to ensure safe traffic flow and reduce the risk of traffic accidents.

On the afternoon of September 12, a representative of the Office of Road Management Zone IV said the unit had received the requests from the Tho Son Commune People's Committee and the Dong Phu Traffic Police Station. A working group was dispatched for on-site inspection. Road Management Zone IV has since issued a decision allowing the preparation for an emergency repair project for the damaged surface and approaches of Bridge 893 (Km893+040), the surface of PanToong Bridge (Km930+140), and the concrete expansion joint of Bridge No. 2 (Km962+220) on National Highway 14, Dong Nai Province. A contractor will be appointed, with repair work expected to begin in early October 2025.
