Reviewing the 20-year tradition of development, dedication, and growth, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Khuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of Regiment 93, stated: On September 20, 2005, the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army signed Decision No. 1056 to upgrade Missile Battalion 93 under Missile Regiment 261 into Missile Unit 93 (under Division 367). Thượng tá Phạm Văn Khương, Trung đoàn trưởng Trung đoàn 93 đọc diễn văn ôn truyền thống. Missile Unit 93 was established, inheriting the name and glorious tradition of Missile Battalion 93, carrying the historic mission of safeguarding the southern skies of the Fatherland. The unit was equipped with the S-300PMU1 missile system, a multi-channel air defense system with high mobility and advanced technology.

In its early days, officers and soldiers were mobilized from various units across the division, while facilities remained limited, living conditions difficult, and the newly equipped weaponry - particularly the S-300PMU1 missile system - posed additional challenges. This system required the officers and soldiers to possess high professional qualifications, as well as the ability to quickly adapt to and master advanced technical equipment.

On May 22, 2013, the Ministry of National Defense issued a decision to reorganize the Missile Unit 93 into the Missile Regiment 93 – the current Regiment 93 under Division 367. The reorganization not only addressed the issue of dispersed forces but also enhanced coordination capabilities and contributed to breakthroughs in overall quality and combat readiness. Since then, Regiment 93 has become a key air defense force, fully equipped with modern missiles and anti-aircraft artillery, ready to defend the Fatherland’s skies.
