After the administrative merger, Phuoc Thai commune (Dong Nai province) has been identified as one of the localities holding great potential, with several key projects being actively implemented. These projects are creating strong momentum for the commune’s growth.
For the 2025-2030 term, Phuoc Thai commune is determined to both achieve the status of a model new-style rural area and meet the criteria of a ward-level administrative unit by 2030.
Expanding development potential
According to the Party Committee of Phuoc Thai commune, during the last term, the Party organizations, authorities, and people of the former communes of Phuoc Thai, Tan Hiep, and Phuoc Binh united and strived to overcome difficulties, achieving many important and comprehensive results. All targets set by the Party resolutions for the 2020–2025 term were fulfilled or exceeded. The local economy maintained a fairly high growth rate of 10–15%; budget revenue increased by 1.2 times compared to the previous term; and poverty reduction targets were surpassed. All the former communes achieved the status of advanced new-style rural areas. At the same time, the focused investment in rural transportation infrastructure has given the locality a new look, significantly improving the living standards of residents. These achievements from the last term are now being promoted with unity by the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Phuoc Thai commune as they move into the new term.

At the Phuoc Thai commune Public Administration Service Center after the merger, one can easily feel the spirit of responsibility and dedication of the officials and civil servants working here.
“The number of people coming for handling of administrative procedures is quite large, but every single resident receives enthusiastic and friendly guidance from the staff. In addition, Youth Union members and young people are also present to assist and guide people right from the entrance,” shared Le Thi Thanh, a resident of Phuoc Thai commune.
Truong Thi Chi, an official at the Phuoc Thai commune Public Administration Service Center, said: “After the merger, the number of dossiers has increased significantly, doubling or even tripling compared to that before. The pressure is greater, but I and my colleagues here are willing to work overtime and actively innovate to serve the people better.”
According to Bui Hong Tien, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phuoc Thai commune: the commune now has a relatively synchronous economic and infrastructure structure. Its waterway transport network includes the Thi Vai river and Go Dau port; in terms of road transport, National Highway 51 runs through, creating favorable conditions for goods trading with other regions across the country. The area is also home to Go Dau Industrial Park, with 36 foreign enterprises operating and employing about 14,000 workers. In addition, many other industrial zones and clusters are also under development, such as Phuoc Binh 1 and 2 Industrial Parks, and the Bau Can - Tan Hiep Industrial Park.
Notably, when major projects in the province come into operation - such as Long Thanh International Airport, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, and inter-regional roads connecting to Long Thanh Airport - they will open up tremendous opportunities for breakthrough development across multiple sectors, steering Phuoc Thai commune toward its goal of becoming an urban center in the future.
