Alongside local businesses and tourist sites, Dong Nai has increased efforts to showcase its natural beauty, culture, and people, while moving forward with major projects and attracting investment in key tourism developments. Authorities are also providing more support and guidance to help businesses and destinations improve their tourism capabilities.

Creating distinctive tourism products

Buu Long, one of the province’s long-established and well-known tourist destinations since the 1990s, has faced many ups and downs amid the boom in tourism services. Recently, it has been steadily reclaiming the top spot, with visitor numbers surging during holidays, Tet, and high seasons.

Nguyen Danh Thinh, Acting Director of Buu Long Development and Investment Company, which manages the site, said: “To boost Buu Long’s growth and restore its position among the province’s top tourist destinations, we focus on both promoting the site and maintaining its facilities, preserving the natural landscape, and adding features and small attractions to create unique highlights. Thanks to these efforts, visitor numbers have surged since early 2025, making Buu Long the province’s most popular destination during peak periods.”

Mr. Thinh added that Buu Long will continue maintaining its communications, care, and facility upkeep while introducing new features during each high season.

Similarly, the Stieng Ethnic Cultural Conservation Area in Bom Bo Commune has recently gained significant recognition, attracting domestic tourists nationwide.

Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, urged tourism sites to enhance service quality and create new, distinctive tourism offerings to cater to both domestic and international visitors.

Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Bom Bo Commune General Service Center, which manages the conservation area, noted that Soc Bom Bo was recently recognized as a National Historical Site. The area has hosted numerous programs to showcase the culture, history, and people of the Stieng and Mnong ethnic groups. In particular, the 2024 festival “The Everlasting Sound of the Pestle in Soc Bom Bo” drew over 20,000 visitorsa sharp increase in tourism for the destination.

Building on these results, the conservation area continues to host festivals and cultural events to raise the profile of Soc Bom Bo and stimulate local tourism.

Mr. Tuan added: “We’ve enhanced the surrounding landscape, like flower gardens, upgraded accommodations, and expanded community activities to give visitors more experiences. These efforts have helped attract more visitors. Looking ahead, as a recognized National Historical Site, Soc Bom Bo will host even more events to draw people both to the site itself and to other tourism spots across the province.”

Enhancing competitiveness through product quality

Feedback from local tourism businesses and eco-destinations indicates that the sector is steadily recovering and experiencing impressive growth. Many sites have actively sought to gain a competitive edge by introducing new tourism offerings, such as Son Tien Tourist Area, community-based tourism in Ta Lai Commune, and the 3-star OCOP tourism product in Bu Gia Map Commune.

Nguyen Thanh Sang, director of the Bo Cap Vang (Golden Scorpion) Ecotourism Area in Dai Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai, said the site recently launched a new tourism product, The Great Farm, which offers fresh experiences designed specifically for school-aged visitors. The initiative aims to attract large groups of students from schools across the province.

Mr. Sang noted that The Great Farm spans 17 hectares of pristine natural surroundings, shaded by trees alongside a gentle river. The space is ideal for outdoor learning, excursions, and water-based activities. Students participating in the Great Farm Program can immerse themselves in nature while engaging in a variety of educational and recreational activities that help develop essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. The new attraction can accommodate around 2,000 visitors at a time, offering them rich, interactive experiences.

Reflecting on tourism across the province, Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, reported that Dong Nai welcomed over 5 million visitors in the first eight months of 2025, generating more than VND 3.2 trillion in tourism revenue. The department has strengthened state management and implemented measures to improve quality, professionalize services, and diversify tourism products.

Dong Nai has strengthened partnerships with other regions to boost tourism development and has been actively advising the provincial People’s Committee on strategies to accelerate key projects. The province aims to advance its tourism sector along with the growth of its aviation industry in 2025 and beyond.
