In line with the national trend, Dong Nai Province has also achieved impressive results, standing out as one of the localities with strong advantages in attracting investment across industries, agriculture, trade, and real estate.

“The Nation’s heartland” of industry and agriculture

Dong Nai is known as one of the country's industrial hubs, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign businesses, including nearly 2,200 FDI enterprises from 51 countries and territories.

From the beginning of 2025 to the present, Dong Nai has ranked fourth nationwide in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), with high-tech, modern projects that meet the province's investment attraction criteria. Notable examples include the Mapletree Logistics Park Tam An 1 project by Saffron Logistics Asset Holdings PTE Ltd. (Singapore), located in the Tam An Industrial Cluster (An Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai Province), with a total registered investment capital of over 101 million USD, along with the capital increase project of SMC Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japan), at Long Duc Industrial Park (Binh An Commune), which added 330 million USD in registered capital, bringing Dong Nai's total registered FDI to nearly 1 billion USD.

In agriculture, Dong Nai holds significant advantages in attracting investment in agro-processing, as the province is regarded as the nation's hub for livestock and crop production. For example, the pig farming sector boasts a herd of nearly 4.2 million, while poultry farming accounts for around 36.5 million birds. In terms of industrial crops and perennial fruit trees, Dong Nai is highly diverse: it has the largest cashew cultivation area in Vietnam, with over 174,000 hectares, along with tens of thousands of hectares of fruit orchards such as mango, durian, and rambutan. These strengths enable the province to develop concentrated farming zones and specialized plantations, ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials for investors in agricultural processing.

In the fields of commerce, services, and real estate, Dong Nai has also emerged as an ideal destination for major investors, as the province is planning numerous large-scale urban, commercial, and tourism projects integrated with a comprehensive transport network, including Long Thanh International Airport, along with road and rail systems. These advantages have been highly valued by investors exploring the province's investment environment.

In addition, Dong Nai has fostered a favorable investment climate through improvements in administrative procedures.

According to the Management Board of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Nai Province (Management Board), 100% of administrative procedures under its jurisdiction are now handled through a one-stop-shop mechanism. The "one-stop" and "interconnected one-stop" models are being further strengthened, helping enterprises complete procedures more quickly and efficiently.

Dong Nai Province must invest in a well-connected transport infrastructure system and develop a high-quality workforce, particularly in the fields of semiconductors and AI. It should also prepare clean land reserves and ensure the necessary infrastructure to attract strategic investors, while maintaining substantive dialogue mechanisms with businesses and investors. Timely reception, resolution, and removal of obstacles faced by investors are also essential.

 Continuing to attract high-quality investment

According to economic experts, Vietnam has emerged as a bright spot in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). FDI inflows are becoming increasingly dynamic, with many multinational corporations and major enterprises bringing advanced technologies and choosing Vietnam as their investment destination. Both the scale of registered capital and the quality of projects have been on the rise. The growing influx of high-quality FDI serves as a driving force for Vietnam to improve its human resources, strengthen production capacity, and increase contributions to the state budget, thereby enhancing the country's position and reputation on the international stage.

In Dong Nai, according to Pham Viet Phuong, Deputy Head in charge of the Provincial Industrial Zones and Economic Zone Authority, in the first 8 months of 2025, the province attracted over USD 1.8 billion in registered FDI for its industrial zones and economic zones, fulfilling more than 99% of the annual FDI target. Investment projects in Dong Nai are concentrated in sectors such as semiconductors, electronic components, electronics, mechanical engineering, and machinery manufacturing. These projects meet advanced technology standards and align with the province's investment attraction strategy.

Notably, in July 2025, Coherent, a leading U.S. high-tech corporation, inaugurated its new manufacturing plant in Nhon Trach 1 Industrial Park (Phuoc An Commune, Dong Nai) with an initial investment of USD 127 million, further underscoring the timeliness and soundness of the province's strategic shift in FDI attraction.

Nguyen Minh Man, General Director of Coherent Vietnam in Dong Nai, stated that the inauguration of Coherent's new plant in Vietnam marks an important step in the group's global development strategy. It demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to Southeast Asia - a key region for advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, and talent development. Coherent has been present in Vietnam since 2005, gradually expanding from Binh Duong to Bac Ninh and now to Dong Nai.

Speaking at the plant's inauguration, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung urged Dong Nai Province to focus on socio-economic development tasks to maximize the potential and development space. He also emphasized the need for the province to continue improving its business and investment environment toward greater openness, transparency, stability, and alignment with international practices. Furthermore, he called for stronger administrative reforms and digital transformation, ensuring an efficient, seamless two-tier local government model.
