Phan Van Thang, Deputy Director of the Xuan Loc - Tan Phu - Dinh Quan Irrigation Cluster under Dong Nai Provincial Irrigation Company Ltd., reported that prolonged heavy rainfall has rapidly increased water levels in local irrigation reservoirs. To ensure dam safety, the company has proactively conducted multiple water releases. Notably, Nui Le, Gia Mang, and Gia Ui reservoirs have each undergone three to five discharge operations. Meanwhile, Suoi Vong reservoir, where inflows have risen more slowly, has not required any discharge so far. As of now, water levels at all irrigation reservoirs remain within safe control limits.

To ensure dam safety before and during the flood season, the company has been fully equipped with storm and flood prevention materials and equipment. The Xuan Loc - Tan Phu - Dinh Quan Irrigation Cluster has also implemented a range of key safety measures, including reinforcing dam structures; clearing vegetation and dredging canals to ensure unimpeded water flow; real-time monitoring of water levels, seepage, and rainfall; regulating reservoir discharge to balance storage and safety; and addressing termite nests and animal burrows that could compromise dam integrity.
