Building on the results achieved following the merger, the Dong Nai Provincial Police have proactively developed, reviewed, and implemented coordinated plans and measures, reinforced grassroots-level forces, and prepared response scenarios to prevent and promptly address complex situations, thereby ensuring security, public order, and safety for the population.

Timely grasp of the situation

Following the administrative merger of the two provinces, police forces from the provincial level down to communes and wards have simultaneously stabilized their organizational structure and implemented plans for crime prevention and suppression.

According to the Provincial Police, since mid-year, the force has proactively launched peak campaigns to crack down on crime, ensuring security during major holidays, safeguarding national security, and maintaining stability along the border. In addition, significant results have been achieved in various areas such as combating different types of crime, handling fire prevention and firefighting incidents, conducting rescue operations, and ensuring traffic order and safety during holiday periods. Numerous cases and offenders have been promptly detected and apprehended.

A typical case occurred on August 10, when residents reported a theft in Soc Trao A Hamlet, Tan Quan Commune. Investigators from the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police promptly launched an investigation. Through their efforts, the police identified a group of suspects led by Dieu Xuan Duan (39 years old, residing in Phuoc Binh Ward), along with four accomplices, as the perpetrators and proceeded to arrest them.

During the verification process, the police determined that from June 2025 until their arrest, the suspects had successfully carried out seven motorbike thefts, stealing nine motorcycles of various types from residents in the communes of Bu Gia Map, Tan Quan, Da Kia, and Bu Dang.

In recent inspection and working sessions with local police forces, leaders of the Provincial Police have gone directly to grassroots areas to provide direction and grasp the situation.

On August 26, Colonel Lam Van Long, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, held working sessions with six communes and wards: Phuoc Long, Phuoc Binh, Phu Rieng, Long Ha, Binh Tan, and Phu Trung. Based on on-site assessments, the provincial police leadership urged local police units to address shortcomings and strengthen the role of leadership in fulfilling their duties.

Meanwhile, during an inspection and working session with the police of Xuan Loc, Xuan Thanh, Xuan Phu, Xuan Dinh, Xuan Bac and Xuan Hoa communes on September 5, Colonel Nguyen Anh Hung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, directly checked and compared records, documentation, and the work of fighting and preventing crimes in the localities. The focus was on detecting and preventing online fraud as well as resolving backlogged cases and files in the localities.

Providing an overall assessment of the security and order situation in the province in recent times, Major General Nguyen Duc Hai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Provincial Police, stated that in light of the critical tasks of maintaining security and order, the provincial police force and local police units have effectively implemented various good models and initiatives, contributing to positive changes in society. The Director of the Provincial Police also outlined key tasks for police units and localities in the coming period.

The Provincial Police have demonstrated very high political determination, made great efforts, and taken resolute actions, working tirelessly day and night, staying close to the grassroots level, and promoting their core and pioneering role in ensuring security and order. Thanks to these efforts, national security and border security have remained stable, with no unexpected incidents occurring.

Implementing synchronous solutions

In directing the tasks for September 2025 and outlining priorities for the remaining months of the year, Major General Nguyen Duc Hai, Director of the Provincial Police, proposed: To meet the set targets and tasks from now until year-end, the police of units and localities must overcome difficulties and accelerate progress in fulfilling their assigned targets. In particular, they should focus on reviewing, advising on amendments, supplements, replacements, and new issuances of plans, procedures, regulations, and directives to ensure alignment with the Provincial Police’s organizational structure after the merger and the implementation of the two-tier local government system.

In the field of fire prevention and fighting, the police force must develop plans, conduct training and guidance for enterprises, and successfully organize activities in response to National Fire Prevention and Fighting Day (October 4) as scheduled. At the same time, the police must ensure smooth traffic flow and work to reduce traffic accidents...

Regarding crime prevention and control, local police are required to strengthen patrols, tighten control, handle violations, and ensure comprehensive patrol coverage across their jurisdictions.

In building the police force, it is essential to continue reinforcing discipline, order, regulations, internal rules, and work procedures; regularly provide guidance, conduct inspections, and maintain oversight to ensure that no officers engage in misconduct or harassment during the handling of administrative procedures or public services.

During an inspection and working session with the police of Xuan Loc, Xuan Thanh, Xuan Phu, Xuan Dinh, Xuan Bac and Xuan Hoa communes, Colonel Nguyen Anh Hung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, requested: The police of the communes continue to promote the sense of responsibility, maintain a firm grasp of local situations, proactively prevent crimes, and promptly detect and strictly handle offenders, avoiding passivity, surprises, or the emergence of hotspots in security and order.

Grassroots police forces must regularly conduct public awareness campaigns on the methods and tricks of online fraudsters; resolve pending suspended cases thoroughly; strengthen patrols to ensure public order and traffic safety, especially after 11 p.m.; and enhance state management of security and order.

The direct instructions and inspections by provincial police leaders demonstrate the political determination to ensure Dong Nai fulfills its mission of safeguarding security and order in the remaining months of the year. However, for this effort to be truly effective, it requires not only the commitment of the police force but also the joint efforts of local authorities and every citizen.
