Dozens of officers and soldiers support Binh An commune residents hit by heavy rains and floods

On the morning of September 12, Colonel Nguyen Tong Que, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Defense Command of Region I- Long Thanh, Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, said: At 0:30 on September 12, heavy rain triggered localized flooding in Binh An commune, Dong Nai province, especially in the area near Giang Dien stream, An Binh hamlet, Binh An commune, about 4km from the communal Military Command headquarters.

After grasping the situation on the ground, the Defense Command of Region I - Long Thanh coordinated with Binh An commune Military Command to dispatch 30 officers, soldiers and vehicles to assist residents in overcoming the consequences caused by the natural disaster. Initial information shows that no casualties have been reported; while property damage is being assessed.

The coordination in victim rescue and support were conducted urgently. As of 5:00 a.m. of September 12, all households in areas with rising floodwaters were relocated to safe locations.

Officers and soldiers of the Defense Command of Region I - Long Thanh, Binh An commune Millitary Command, and other functional forces continue to patrol, guard, protect residents’ property, and assist them in relocating assets to minimize damage caused by the natural disaster.
