Ảnh: Trần Thể Quang Tri Ancient Citadel has recorded in the nation's history a shining milestone of revolutionary heroism with the heroic and resilient fight to protect the Ancient Citadel and Quang Tri town for 81 days and nights in the fiery summer of 1972. This victory contributed significantly to the victory at the negotiating table, leading to the signing of the Paris Agreement in 1973, creating momentum for the general offensive and uprising in the Spring of 1975, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country.
Also this morning, the delegation of Dong Nai province came to offer incense and lay wreaths to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery (Quang Tri). Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,000 martyrs nationwide, mainly martyrs of Group 559 - Truong Son Army, who sacrificed their lives during the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists to save the country.
This activity reflects the Vietnamese tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source,” fostering patriotism, national pride, and a sense of responsibility among today’s generation in the cause of national building and defence. After the incense offering ceremony, the delegation held a working session with the leaders of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee. By Tran The Translated by Thu Cuc- Thu Ha
