Dong Nai Muay Thai athlete wins gold at World Youth Championship

Young athlete Mai Tuan Huy from Dong Nai’s Muay team won the gold medal in the Mai Muay performance event for the 14 -15 age group at the 2025 World Youth Championships in the UAE.

The 2025 World Youth Muay Thai Championships took place from September 10 to 19 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, marking the largest edition to date, with more than 1,200 athletes from over 100 countries and territories. The tournament featured 949 competitive bouts and nearly 200 performance routines.

Dong Nai’s Muay team is proud to have young athlete Mai Tuan Huy selected for the Vietnam Youth Muay Thai national team competing at the 2025 World Youth Championships. Living up to the trust of the coaching staff, Mai Tuan Huy, together with teammate Dinh Van Duc Anh, delivered an outstanding performance to win the gold medal in the Mai Muay performance event for the 14 -15 age group. In addition, Tuan Huy also won a medal in the Muay Talay category.

Mai Tuan Huy’s gold medal contributed to the success of the Vietnam Youth Muay Thai team at the 2025 World Youth Championships, where the team secured a total of 4 golds, 8 silvers, and 6 bronzes. The remaining three gold medals belonged to athletes Bui Ngoc Huyen (60kg category, ages 11-13), Banh The Minh (Wai Kru, ages 14 -15), and the duo Ha Bao Ngoc - Me Thi Van (Mai Muay, ages 14–15).
