In the process of assisting poor people and those facing housing difficulties to quickly secure stable housing, Dong Nai Province has mobilized all possible contributions, including resources from foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Thanks to transparency and ensuring that support reaches those truly in need, international NGOs, foreign associations, and foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises have actively participated and made contributions.
This has helped create additional social resources to accelerate the solid housing program across Dong Nai Province.
Mobilizing joint efforts from foreign partners
Dong Nai has established cooperative relationships with more than 60 international NGOs, FDI enterprises, and foreign associations. At the same time, the province is one of the leading localities in attracting FDI projects nationwide.

According to Tran Thuy Tien, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations: In recent years, the Union has strengthened efforts to attract NGO aid from these partners to improve and enhance local living standards. One of the key initiatives is building and renovating solid houses for residents and upgrading auxiliary facilities for families with disabled members. Since 2024, the Union has collaborated on implementing 39 NGO-funded aid packages with a total committed value of over 93 billion VND.
Thanks to these resources, dozens of houses have been built or repaired. For example, from November 2024 to January 2025, Samsung C&T Corporation (Korea), through Habitat for Humanity International, supported the construction of 6 solid houses, assisted 62 families in repairing their homes, installing clean water systems, and improving sanitation facilities. Recently, the Korea International Trade Association – (KITA) in Vietnam and the Korean Business Association in Dong Nai sponsored the construction of 11 solid houses in the communes of Ta Lai, Tan Phu, and Dinh Quan. Separately, Hyosung Dong Nai Co., Ltd. donated 700 million VND to build solid houses for disadvantaged families.
Nguyen Thanh Tri, Chairman of the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations, said: When developing the annual list of NGO-funded projects, the Union always prioritizes surveying the housing needs of local residents. This forms the basis for drafting proposals and sending them to international NGOs, foreign associations, and FDI enterprises. We hope to continue receiving support from these partners to assist households struggling with housing.
Bae In Han, General Director of Hyosung Dong Nai Co., Ltd., added: In recent years, our company has supported Dong Nai in various activities to assist low-income families and disadvantaged individuals. We are committed to continuing our contributions to local social welfare projects in the future.
Bringing joy to the poor
Thanks to Dong Nai’s proactive efforts in connecting with international NGOs, along with the enthusiastic participation of foreign associations and FDI enterprises, many solid houses have been built, bringing joy and stability to families benefiting from these resources.
The family of Ka Hanh and K’Neu (residents of Phu Lam Commune) recently moved into their new solid home funded by the Les Enfants du Dragon (LEDD) organization. Each house received an initial support of 70 million VND. In addition, the beneficiary families contributed part of their savings, local authorities mobilized extra funds, and neighbors helped with labor. As a result, the completed houses had greater material value than initially planned, bringing even more joy to these two disadvantaged ethnic minority families.
The Provincial Fund for the Poor plans to provide 80 million VND for building new “Great Solidarity Houses” and 40 million VND for repairing homes for poor households, near-poor households, and families facing severe housing difficulties. This proposal is currently included in the Draft Decision on Expenditure Regulations prepared by the provincial Fund Mobilization Committee. If approved, these support levels will be applied in 2025. This will provide a stronger foundation for the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations to mobilize additional funds from international NGOs, foreign associations, and FDI enterprises to help local residents build solid homes.
Ka Hanh shared: The solid house funded by the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations through NGO resources is our family’s most valuable asset and a long-held dream. Despite working very hard, our daily income from temporary labor only covers basic expenses. Saving enough to build a solid house on our own was impossible.
According to Nguyen Thanh Tri, Chairman of the Dong Nai Union of Friendship Organizations, in 2025, the Union is seeking NGO funding for 62 projects, 10 of which involve building, repairing, and upgrading solid houses. These projects aim to improve the living conditions of people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, disadvantaged groups, and ethnic minority households. Many of these initiatives have already gained attention and support from partners, helping bring safe and stable homes to low-income families and those in difficult situations.
Kim Young Hwan, Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Dong Nai, stated: Our association has worked closely with Dong Nai Province on numerous social welfare activities, and the results have been very positive. We will continue supporting these programs in the coming period.
