Nguyen Thanh Hai found his true passion upon learning about the field of Prosecutorial Law. For Hai, becoming a prosecutor is not just about pursuing a career but also about embracing an opportunity to contribute to society.
In the 2025 national high school graduation examination, Nguyen Thanh Hai, a 12th-grade student from the Chemistry specialized class at Quang Trung High School for the Gifted (Binh Phuoc Ward), became valedictorian of the A00 exam group in Dong Nai province with a total of 29 points (Math 9, Physics: 10, Chemistry: 10).

Chosen for Chemistry specialized class by fate
From an early age, Nguyen Thanh Hai was deeply fascinated by natural phenomena, especially the chemical reactions occurring in daily life. “I often wondered why they could change colour, scent, or state in such a fascinating way,” Hai shared.
That question lingered in his mind, and Hai constantly sought answers on his own. By grade 8, he had more opportunities to find clear and accurate explanations for the questions he had long wondered about. At that point, his aptitude and love for Chemistry were recognised by the Physics–Chemistry teaching team. Hai affirmed: “Thanks to the guidance and wholehearted support of my teachers, I became even more passionate and deeply attached to Chemistry.” In addition, he also excelled in Mathematics and Physics.
Through his participation in excellent student contests, Hai not only attained outstanding results but also honed logical thinking and scientific learning methods. These experiences are important preparation for him in the national high school exam that followed.

A journey of unceasing efforts
During his preparation for the 2025 high school graduation national exam, there were times when Hai felt disheartened due to his unsatisfactory mock test results. Yet whenever that happened, he recalled his parents’ simple advice: “The most precious gift we can give you is knowledge. How you receive and use it is up to you.” That belief became a source of strength for Hai to persevere.

When receiving the news that he was the A00 valedictorian, Hai was overwhelmed with joy. According to Hai, his outstanding achievement was thanks to the dedicated support of his teachers at Quang Trung High School for the Gifted. Known for his curiosity, he often sought detailed explanations from teachers whenever he encountered difficulties in lessons.
Nguyen Van Thoa, Chemistry teacher and homeroom teacher of Class 12C, Quang Trung High School for the Gifted, observed: “For Hai, studying has never been a burden but a journey of patience and perseverance. In class, he listens attentively to every word. At home, he carefully connects pieces of knowledge into diagrams and practises additional exercises to challenge himself. Thanks to such diligence, knowledge gradually seeps in, often without realizing it. It was also this scientific study habit that enabled Hai to win second prize in the provincial Chemistry contest for selection of excellent students.”
The youth’s aspiration to devote themselves to society
Achieving the valedictorian is only the beginning of a long journey ahead. Hai has already been admitted to the Prosecutorial Law program at Hanoi Procuratorate University.

Initially intending to pursuing a degree in Law, but after learning more, he discovered that Prosecutorial Law is a distinctive specialization that allows one to directly uphold justice and work for the common good of society.
When asked about his future plans, Hai said: “I will strive to study hard so that after graduating from university, I can pass the civil service exam and give my utmost to become a good prosecutor, worthy of the trust and expectations of my family, teachers, and those who support me.”
Hai’s present success is not only a reward for his relentless effort but also a foundation for contributing to society. His journey is also a vivid testament to the faith, perseverance, and aspiration of the youth.
