Thanks to a sharp increase in the number of high school graduates in 2025, many universities in Dong Nai enjoyed a favorable admission season. Several universities have nearly met their admissions quotas right after the first round and are only admitting a limited number of students in the second supplementary round.
Dr. Vo Van Ly, Vice Principal of Dong Nai University in Tam Hiep Ward, said: "The school's admissions this year are favorable due to the abundant pool of applicants and the advantage of being a public university. After the merger of the former Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, applications for pedagogical majors have risen sharply. In addition, these majors currently receive generous tuition and study cost subsidies from the state".
A good admission season
The 2025 admission regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training came with many changes, and the admission period has been shortened. The 2025 high school graduation exam was considered difficult in some subjects, which partly affected universities' admission processes. However, after announcing the first-round cutoff scores and completing enrollment, most universities have basically filled their quotas and now only need a small number of supplementary admissions in certain majors.

According to Dr. Võ Văn Lý, after announcing the first-round cutoff scores, Dong Nai University has already filled 8 out of 11 majors, enrolling 1,519 out of the 1,609 quotas assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training. The school is now conducting the second supplementary round with 90 slots in three majors: Natural Sciences Education (43 slots), English Language (27 slots), and Mechanical Engineering (20 slots). The deadline for supplementary applications is September 15, after which the list of admitted students will be published.
Unlike previous years, in 2025, Vietnam National University of Forestry in Dong Nai (VNUF2) in Trang Bom commune had a fairly favorable enrollment season. After announcing the first-round cutoff scores, 550 students confirmed their enrollment online and have now completed procedures on campus. The university only needs to admit 50 more students in the second round to complete 100% of the assigned quota. Completing the 600 admission quotas is also considered within the school's capacity.
Meanwhile, according to Nguyen Van Trung, head of Admissions and Public Relations at Lac Hong University in Tran Bien Ward, the university enrolled more than 2,200 students across 26 undergraduate majors this year. After announcing the first-round admission results, 23 of the 26 majors had met their quotas, with only three falling slightly short. The university is continuing its supplementary admissions for the remaining majors until all quotas are filled.
According to the Admissions Department of Mien Dong Innovative Technology University in Dau Giay Commune, due to its location far from the provincial center, the school is slower in recruiting compared to other universities. However, compared to previous years, in 2025, the school's administration results have been much better. If in 2024, the school only recruited 400 students at the end of the first round of enrollment, then in 2025, after the end of the first round, the number increased to over 700 candidates.
How does supplementary administration work?
According to regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, in the 2025 admissions cycle, after the first-round cutoff scores are announced and admitted students complete enrollment, universities that have not yet filled their quotas are permitted to continue with supplementary admissions until all slots are filled. As a result, the second-round admissions period may extend longer than the first, depending on each institution's recruitment progress.
Dr. Vo Van Ly, Vice Principal of Dong Nai University, noted that from now until September 15, the school will consider the second round of supplementary administration with conditions: Natural Science Pedagogy major has supplementary administration score from 19 points or higher, along with the condition of excellent 12th grade academic performance. For the English Language major, the administration score is from 18.6 points or higher, with the English subject score from 5.5 points or higher. As for the Mechanical Engineering major, the administration score from 18 points or higher.
In the 2025 enrollment season, beyond the sharp increase in high school graduates compared to previous years, universities in Đồng Nai also benefited from other favorable conditions: stable tuition, improved training quality, and the province's rapidly developing infrastructure, which promises strong job prospects in 4–5 years.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Rector of Lạc Hồng University
The majors open for the second round of supplementary admissions at Dong Nai University accept multiple application methods, including high school graduation exam scores, academic transcripts, or a combination of exam scores and international certificates. The Natural Sciences Education major is expected to have a relatively high second-round cutoff score. Meanwhile, English Language and Mechanical Engineering are projected to maintain the same cutoff levels as the first round.
In the meantime, the Admissions Office of Đồng Nai University of Technology in Trang Dai Ward said this year's enrollment is relatively stable compared to previous years. Many majors have nearly met their quotas, but the university continues to accept applications for all majors to accommodate student demand. Supplementary requirements are similar to the first round, though the university may extend the enrollment period until quotas are fully met.
