Youth Union participates in preserving and promoting historical stories

On the morning of August 8, the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a national conference in both direct and online forms to implement the Project on the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Participation in preserving and promoting historical stories with the theme Stories of the fierce yet glorious years (referred to as the project).

The conference was chaired by Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Chairwoman of the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Young Pioneer Organisation.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the project has been implemented within one year (July 27, 2025 - July 27, 2026) and was divided into four phases. Phase 1 will take place on celebration the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - 2025). Phase 2 will coincide with the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 –2025). Phase 3 will be held during the 95th anniversary of the founding of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (March 26, 1931 –2026). Phase 4 will mark the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 –2026).

During the implementation of the project, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union levels will organize the Everlasting Memories Campaign, meeting with and recording historical stories from living witnesses; promoting and spreading the Stories of the Fiery Years, etc. with the aim of spreading historical and traditional values to the young generation, thereby contributing to fostering revolutionary ideals, patriotism, national pride, and social responsibility among Youth Union members and school-aged youth and children

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Chairwoman of the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Young Pioneer Organisation emphasized: There are currently more than 9.2 million people nationwide recognized for their contribution to the revolution, and they are aging day by day. Their memories and stories of the fierce yet glorious years are a vivid part of the nation’s living history. With the desire to collect and preserve these stories as materials to serve propaganda and educational work for Youth Union members, school-aged youth and children, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has developed and implemented Project on the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Participation in preserving and promoting Historical Stories themed fierce yet glorious years.

To ensure effective implementation, Nguyen Pham Duy Trang called on Youth Union levels, as well as every Youth Union member and young person, to devote their full effort to carrying out the key tasks of the project. Active coordination with relevant agencies is encouraged in reviewing available materials; and there’s a need to approach, listen to, and record the stories of historical witnesses with the deepest gratitude.

In addition, Youth Union levels, members, and young people should enhance ability of the application of advanced technologies and creativity to turn these heroic memories into modern media stories that can spread strongly in cyberspace and touch the hearts of the youth. This work must be carried out consistently, continuously, and persistently, with the strongest emotions.
