Xuan Duong Commune welcomes a new era of opportunities

(ĐN)- Following the administrative reorganization at the commune level, Xuan Duong Commune in Dong Nai Province now has a larger development space, along with many new potentials and advantages for growth. Notably, part of the Long Thanh International Airport area lies within the commune’s territory, and a high-tech industrial park with an area of 1 thousand hectares-located adjacent to the commune-have received investment approval and both are about to begin construction. This will give Xuan Duong a new position on the development map of Dong Nai Province.

The 1st Congress of the Xuan Duong Commune Party Committee, 2025–2030 term, divided delegates into groups to discuss the draft documents to be submitted to the congress on the morning of August 8.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Xuan Duong Commune People’s Committee Bui Van Tho said: “Xuan Duong Commune was established on the basis of merging the former communes of Xuan Duong and Thua Duc in Cam My District, and Cam Duong in former Long Thanh District. Cadres, Party members, and residents of the commune are very excited and hopeful about the commune’s new development prospects in this new era. Therefore, right at the first Party Congress of the commune, we have set many new goals so that Xuan Duong can truly maximize its potentials and advantages, bringing a prosperous life to the people.”

A New Look for Xuan Duong Commune

According to the Standing Board of the Xuan Duong Commune Party Committee, before the merger, the old communes of Xuan Duong, Thua Duc, and Cam Duong all maintained a relatively high economic growth rate. The total production value over the past five years (at 2010 constant prices) increased by an average of 12.97% per year, from 2,589 trillion VND in 2021 to 4,260 trillion VND in 2025. The economic structure of the communes before the merger developed in the right direction—gradually increasing the share of small-scale industry, handicrafts, construction, and services, while continuing to enhance the value of agriculture, which has been the locality’s strength.

In the past five years, despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020–2022 period and the subsequent effects of the global economic downturn, the livelihoods of the people have improved significantly. The average per capita income of the three communes before merging into the new Xuan Duong Commune increased from 69,77 million VND in 2021 to 90 million VND in 2025. As people’s incomes have risen, rural housing and the overall appearance of the new countryside have improved, while the people’s trust in the local Party Committee and authorities has grown stronger.

As a pioneer in building the new economic zone and a resident of Suoi Quyt Hamlet, former Cam Duong Commune since the 1980s, Dinh Van Bao happily shared: “I can truly feel every step of development in this land over each period, but the most impressive and visible changes have been in the past five years. Roads have been properly invested in, many families have built spacious and solid houses, children study in nationally standardized schools, and cultural facilities in residential areas have been developed to serve the people in enjoying vibrant cultural and sports activities.”

According to the Farmers’ Association of Hamlet 3, Xuan Duong Commune, under the orientation of local authorities, in recent years residents have shifted from the old habit of “each doing their own thing” to joining cooperative groups to share and adopt new production methods. Currently, 52 households in the hamlet participate in the pomelo production cooperative group, with a total cultivation area of nearly 54,75 hectares. These pomelo orchards, with high yields and value, have gradually changed the lives of many farming families.

In the past 5 years, Xuan Duong Commune has added 93 socialized projects funded by both state budget support and public contributions. These include rural transport roads and public lighting systems, which not only help change the appearance of the new countryside but also facilitate travel and goods circulation for residents.

Vice Chairwoman of the Xuan Duong Commune Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and concurrently Chairwoman of the Commune Farmers’ Association Nguyen Thi Thuong shared: “Thanks to economic development, households’ incomes have increased. Therefore, when implementing projects such as roads, lighting systems, and clean water supply, people have enthusiastically contributed under the spirit of ‘the State and the people work together.

Communes located near Long Thanh International Airport, including Xuan Duong, will all benefit once the airport is operational. However, opportunities only come when Party Committees and authorities truly take action for the people and for common development. The province will provide strong support for Xuan Duong to become part of the Long Thanh International Airport development space and its surrounding areas, through planning alignment, investment in transport connectivity, and attracting investment projects so that Xuan Duong can truly ‘take off’ in this new era".

A new vision for the future

With expanded development space in this new phase, Xuan Duong Commune has many advantages to continue fully exploiting its available potentials. Under the planning for Long Thanh International Airport and its surrounding areas, Xuan Duong is located to the northeast of the airport, with an orientation toward becoming a development hub for logistics, high-tech industry, and biotechnology at the regional and international levels, covering an area of about 7,1 thousand hectares.

Another clear indication of the development opportunities coming very close to Xuan Duong is the upcoming commencement of the 1 thousand hectares of Xuan Que – Song Nhan High-Tech Industrial Park in Xuan Que Commune, which borders Xuan Duong. This will be the largest high-tech industrial park in Dong Nai Province in the future.

Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee Bui Van Tho added: “The development goal for the new phase is to continue maximizing resources for infrastructure investment, thereby improving living standards and incomes for residents. For example, the commune’s annual economic growth target must be over 10%, and per capita income by 2030 must exceed 120 million VND per year. The commune is determined to focus on education and training development, with the goal that by 2030, 100% of schools will meet national standards, of which 20% will reach Level 2 national standards.”

To successfully achieve socio-economic development goals, the Xuan Duong Commune Party Committee has determined that Party building and the strengthening of the political system must always be prioritized to ensure integrity and strength. The Party Committee will foster unity within the Party to enhance the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and members; focus on completing the organizational model; improve the efficiency and effectiveness of local government operations; and build a friendly, digital government, along with a professional, modern, transparent administration that serves the people.

In the new term, the Commune Party Committee will strengthen leadership and direction to equip advanced technology for administrative procedures, promote the application of science and technology, foster innovation, and accelerate digital transformation to create momentum for local economic growth. Efforts will focus on mobilizing all resources, attracting investment to develop services and eco-tourism, and building a culture and community in Xuan Duong that is dynamic, friendly, and compassionate.
