Following the announcement of 2025 admission scores by universities in Dong Nai, results show that overall admission benchmarks have risen compared to previous years. This accomplishment is a positive development, enabling universities to improve the quality of student intake and better serve the province’s goal of training high-quality human resources.

Fluctuations in admission scores for pedagogy majors

In 2025, Dong Nai University (Tam Hiep ward) offered admission to 11 majors, including 6 in pedagogy and 5 in non-pedagogy fields. After announcing the admission scores, the university confirmed 1,609 successful candidates, 649 admitted to pedagogy majors, and 960 to non-pedagogy majors. Most admission scores at the university in 2025 showed an upward trend, with pedagogy majors, traditionally the university’s strength, leading the increase.

Specifically, the major with the highest score was literature pedagogy at 26.51 points (up more than 1.01 points from last year), followed by mathematics pedagogy at 25.41 points (up 0.16 points), early childhood education (university level) at 24.7 points (up 2.45 points), English pedagogy at 24.49 points (up 0.26 points), primary education pedagogy at 23.1 points (down 1.15 points), and early childhood education (college level) at 21.77 points (up 1.27 points).

Meanwhile, admission scores for non-pedagogical majors at Dong Nai University were as follows: Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, 22 points; English Language, 18.16 points; Mechanical Engineering, 18 points; and both Business Administration and Accounting, 16 points.

According to Dong Nai University, admission scores based on the 2025 high school graduation exam results were considered quite “beautiful” compared to previous years. In terms of general admission score levels for this method, Dong Nai University stood significantly higher than many other universities in the province.

In 2025, universities and university branches in Dong Nai plan to recruit about 10,000 students, mainly at the undergraduate level. This year also marks the first enrollment of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education - Dong Xoai branch (Dong Nai province), with an expected intake of 500 students.

Many universities with “easier” admission scores

According to the announcement of the Forestry University - Dong Nai branch (Trang Bom commune), admission scores for 15 undergraduate majors in 2025 saw little change. For the admission method based on high school graduation exam results, 9 out of 15 majors had scores of 15 points (an average of 5 points per subject), and the other 6 majors had scores of 16 points. For the high school academic record method, admission scores remained at two levels: 18 and 18.8 points (an average of over 6 points per subject).

For private universities in the province, due to fierce competition with universities in Ho Chi Minh City, admission scores in 2025 did not change significantly. Except for health-related majors such as pharmacy, nursing, and medical testing, which had higher scores starting from 19 points due to minimum quality standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training, other majors maintained similar levels depending on admission methods.

The “general” admission score level of private universities in Dong Nai in 2025 was relatively similar, though some majors improved compared to last year. For example, at Lac Hong University, pharmacy continued to have the highest score, while most other majors, if based on the high school graduation exam, required 15 points. For the high school academic record method, scores generally started from 18 points (3 subjects) and reached as high as 21.27 points. The school also applied admission through the competency assessment exam organized by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, with 700 points for pharmacy and 500 points for other majors.

Dong Nai University is expected to complete its enrollment process early, thanks to the advantages of being a public university. Students enrolled in pedagogy majors may be exempt from tuition fees, while tuition for non-pedagogy majors is considered affordable.

Dr. Nguyen Van Trung, head of Admissions and Public Relations at Lac Hong University (Tran Bien ward), said: Right after announcing admission scores, the school started enrollment procedures for selected candidates. Those who enroll early will receive many benefits such as scholarships, dormitory support, travel assistance, and additional skills courses.”

Meanwhile, Doan Manh Quynh, Rector of Dong Nai University of Technology (Trang Dai ward), stated that the university began enrollment for admitted candidates on August 23 and will continue until it meets the target of over 2,000 students.
