Trang Bom commune strives to meet ward criteria and eyes green urban development

On the morning of August 9, the first Congress of the Party Committee of Trang Bom Commune, Dong Nai Province, for the 2025–2030 tenure officially opened. The congress was attended by 200 official delegates representing nearly 2,000 Party members across the entire Party Committee of the commune.

In his opening address, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Trang Bom Commune Le Tuan Anh emphasized that the first Congress of the Party Committee of Trang Bom Commune, for the 2025–2030 tenure, is a profound political activity aimed at fostering solidarity, unity, and mobilizing the collective strength of the entire population to build Trang Bom into a green, livable urban area.

The congress was tasked to comprehensively review the achievements of the 2020–2025 tenure, drawing lessons learned, and, based on the commune’s new position, discussing and setting out orientations and tasks for the new tenure.

Trang Bom Commune was established through the merger of Trang Bom Township and the communes of Quang Tien, Song Trau, and Giang Dien. The commune has an area of more than 68 square kilometers and a population of nearly 100 thousand people. The Party Committee of Trang Bom Commune has 37 grassroots-level Party organizations with nearly 2 thousand Party members.

During the 2020–2025 tenure, the Party Committee, authorities, armed forces, and people of Trang Bom Commune have continued to uphold solidarity and unity, overcome difficulties and challenges, and focus on leadership and direction to meet and exceed the set targets and tasks.

Specifically, the local economy has maintained stable growth, and the living standards of the people have improved. The economic structure has shifted appropriately towards trade–services, cottage industry–construction–agriculture. Currently, Trang Bom Commune has established two production linkage chains: green-skin pomelo and cocoa.

The livestock sector has developed towards industrial production, ensuring disease safety and environmental sanitation. Annual state budget revenue in the commune exceeds 161 billion VND, meeting and surpassing assigned targets. During the tenure, 78 projects were implemented with a total investment of more than 1,047 billion VND.

The average annual disbursement rate of public investment capital reached over 90%. All three communes prior to the merger achieved the status of advanced new-style rural communes. Currently, 21 out of 22 hamlets in Trang Bom Commune maintain the title of “Cultural Hamlet.” Fourteen out of seventeen schools meet national standards at level 1, of which two schools meet level 2 standards. All four commune health stations have resident doctors working on a regular basis. The commune’s poverty rate has fallen to only 0.27%.

Political security, social order, and safety have been maintained and stabilized.

Regarding Party building and political system development, during the tenure, the Party Committee of Trang Bom Commune admitted 157 new Party members. Annual evaluations show that 95% of subordinate Party cells, over 97% of Party members, and all four subordinate Party Committees were rated as having completed their tasks well or better.

With the achievements of the past tenure and in the context of the post-merger situation, the Congress of the Party Committee of Trang Bom Commune set the overall goals for the 2025–2030 tenure on building a streamlined Party Committee and political system apparatus operating effectively and efficiently; promoting innovation in the economic–social development growth model in association with environmental protection; completing infrastructure; building new residential and urban areas; developing modern, civilized urban services; ensuring political security, social order, and safety; improving the quality of life for the people; and striving to meet ward criteria by 2030.

In his directive speech at the congress, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Le Truong Son highly valued the efforts and results achieved by the Party Committee of the commune during the past tenure.

Regarding orientations and tasks for the new tenure, Le Truong Son agreed with the goals, solutions, and breakthrough areas identified by the congress. At the same time, he urged the Executive Committee of the Commune Party Committee, in the process of implementing the congress’s action program, to identify key tasks and priorities, and to devise solutions for mobilizing resources to implement projects in the locality. He also emphasized the need to increase the percentage of households using piped water and to ensure that the annual target for Party member recruitment reaches at least 3% as set by the resolution of the Provincial Party Committee.
