The 11th Congress of Military Region 7 Party Committee opens

On the morning of August 14, the 11th Congress of the Military Region 7 Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term opened and began its official working session in Ho Chi Minh City.

The congress was also attended by Colonel General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army; Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council; leaders from the General Staff, the General Department of Politics, the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, and the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission’s Inspection Committee; delegates from Ministry of National Defense agencies; leaders of provinces and cities under Military Region 7; representatives from various agencies and units; and 290 official delegates representing more than 8,800 Party members of the Military Region 7 Party Committee.

In his opening remarks at the congress, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Military Region 7, emphasized that the 11th Congress of the Military Region 7 Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term is a special political activity that continues to affirm the political courage, self-reliance, resilience, unity, and determination to win, as well as the continuous strength of the armed forces of Military Region 7.

The success of the congress also serves as an important premise for the Party Committee and the armed forces of the Military Region 7 to excellently fulfill their mission of defending the Fatherland in the coming period, contributing to the celebration of the 12th Congress of the Army Party Committee, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, and leading up to the 80th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Military Region 7 (December 10, 1945 - December 10, 2025).

During its official working day, the congress will hear a report on the outcomes of the preparatory session; approve the report on the verification of delegates’ credentials; and carry out the following agenda items: present and discuss the Political Report, the 2020–2025 term review report of the Military Region 7 Party Committee, and the Action Program for implementing the congress’s resolution. The congress will also conduct personnel work; elect the Executive Committee of the Military Region 7 Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term and the delegation to attend the 12th Congress of the Army Party Committee; report and approve the election results for the new Executive Committee; convene the first session to elect the Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Inspection Committee, and Chair of the Inspection Committee of the Military Region Party Committee; and hear a directive speech from General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Director of the General Department of Politics.
