Striving to make Dong Xoai ward a driving force in the province’s overall development

On the morning of August 12, the Party Committee of Dong Xoai Ward held the 1st Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Attending and directing the congress was comrade Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council.

Also in attendance were former leaders of former Binh Phuoc province including Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Tue Hien; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Tuyet Minh; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Le Thi Xuan Trang. Leaders of Provincial People’s Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Party commissions, departments, and agencies, along with 240 official delegates representing 955 Party members of the entire ward Party Committee, also attended the congress.

Dong Xoai ward was established by merging Tien Thanh ward and Tan Thanh commune of the former Dong Xoai city. The ward covers an area of more than 81km² and has a population of over 35,880 people.

In the 2020-2025 term, the two localities of Tien Thanh and Tan Thanh (before the merger) achieved remarkable results in all fields. Notably, Tien Thanh ward was upgraded from commune to ward status. Meanwhile, Tan Thanh commune also made impressive progress by meeting the criteria of the advanced New Rural Development Program. Currently, Dong Xoai ward no longer has any poor or near-poor households.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Dong Xoai Ward Party Committee has set key targets, including striving for an average annual increase in total production value of 14 percent or more. By 2030, the proportion of industry–construction is to reach 54.84 percent, trade–services 35.59 percent, and agriculture to fall to 9.57 percent; the ward will also develop high-tech agriculture and sustainable urban agriculture. Average per capita income by 2030 is expected to rise by 60 percent compared to 2025. Budget revenue generated within the ward will be ensured to meet or exceed the targets assigned by the Provincial People’s Committee, with an average annual growth rate of 14 percent or higher.

In her directive speech at the congress, comrade Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council, requested that Dong Xoai make a strong shift in mindset from administrative management to service and development facilitation, and resolutely promote digital transformation.

In particular, development must be pursued with a focus on fostering inter-regional linkages, aiming to make the ward a driving force for the province’s growth. The ward should continue to consolidate and build a contingent of officials and civil servants with firm political will, sound moral character, competence, and experience, those who dare to innovate and create, take responsibility, and truly serve as a bridge between the people and the government. All efforts should be directed toward making Dong Xoai a civilized, ecological, and humane urban area, bringing its residents an increasingly prosperous, happy, and fulfilling life.
