Beyond fulfilling propaganda objectives, the artistic works also contribute to telling the story of a heroic land rich in historical and cultural traditions, dynamism and aspirations for integration and development.
Continuing the revolutionary tradition
Participating in this year’s National Mobile Propaganda Contest, Dong Nai’s cultural sector meticulously prepared an artistic performance programme titled “Dong Nai and the August epic.” The programme featured six vocal and dance performances combining traditional and modern elements: Duoi quan ky quyet thang ( “Under the Determined-to-Win Flag”), Mien xa tham (The distant land), Tinh Bac sang doi ta (Uncle Ho’s love brightens our lives), The Nguoi me va co (Mother mending the flag), Cong vang chien khu D (The Gong sounds in the War Zone D), and Vinh quang To quoc Viet Nam (Glory to the Vietnamese Fatherland). Each performance was a slice of history, evoking the heroic spirit of the Vietnamese people during the revolutionary autumn days.
These included the image of the Vietnamese mother quietly mending the flag amid smoke and fire in wartime, the image of the red flag with a yellow star fluttering in the bustling atmosphere of a historic autumn, the sacred affection for Uncle Ho, and the resounding sound of Dong Nai gongs, affirming the strength of great national unity. Alongside retelling history through songs and lyrics, artists and actors also employed theatrical staging, documentary screenings, and visual displays, spreading the message of the August revolution to the public in a lively and attractive way.
Ton Thi Thanh Tinh, Director of Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema, stated that Dong Nai is the land rich in patriotic tradition and has long been a “bright spot” in revolutionary history education and propaganda. This year, as the provincial cultural sector’s representative at the National Mobile Propaganda Contest, the unit not only demonstrates a sense of responsibility but also actively contributes to preserving and promoting patriotic traditions, national pride, and honoring and expressing gratitude for the great contributions and achievements of previous generations.
“We recognize this activity as an important political task in 2025, marking Dong Nai’s solidarity with the entire country in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). Artists and propagandists of the unit continued the tradition, bringing the highest spirit of service to the contest, through art performances, breathing new life, bringing the history and culture of Vietnam and Dong Nai closer to the people, especially today's young generation” - Ton Thi Thanh Tinh shared.
As the lead vocalist in the performance The Gong sounds in the War Zone D, artist An Le collaborated with two young artists to create a rendition both majestic and poignant. For her, performing on a large stage during a time when the entire country honors these significant national holidays was an honor and a source of pride. The song not only holds high artistic value but also awakens in the hearts of the viewers and listeners proud memories of a time of the indomitable struggle of the army and people of the War Zone D - the cradle of the revolution in the Southeast region.
From August 4 to 9, Dong Nai participated in the National Mobile Propaganda Contest commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), under the theme “Dong Nai and the August epic.” The contest was organized by the Department of Grassroots Culture under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Following the contest, the art performances will be publicly staged to serve the local population in the province.
Contributing to the promotion of Dong Nai’s culture and tourism
During its participation in the 2025 National Mobile Propaganda Contest, Dong Nai will organize mobile performances to serve the people in several provinces and cities, including Hai Phong, Tuyen Quang, and Bac Ninh. These mobile shows contribute to bringing works of art closer to the public, strengthening the connection among localities as well as affirming the role of culture and art in propaganda and education of revolutionary traditions.
Nguyen Cao Thep, director of the artistic program “Dong Nai and the August epic,” shared: “This is a mobile propaganda program, touring many provinces and cities in the North, so the selected art performances not only tell Vietnam’s historical story but also introduce the image of the people and the dynamic and affectionate land of Dong Nai to friends across the country. It is also a valuable opportunity for us to promote and affirm Dong Nai’s cultural identity within the flow of integration and development.”
Nguyen Khac Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated that Dong Nai’s participation in the National Mobile Propaganda Contest commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 is a culturally significant activity. Beyond fostering exchange and learning, the contest ignites pride and strengthens the spirit of unity, preservation, and promotion of Vietnamese cultural values in general and those of Dong Nai in particular. This effort, in turn, contributes to promoting the image of Dong Nai, connecting and developing the province's tourism with friends both domestically and internationally.
