Solemn preliminary rehearsal for the parade, march-past for 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day

On the evening of August 27, a state-level preliminary rehearsal for parade and march-past for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) took place at Ba Dinh Square in the capital city of Hanoi.

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh joined the event, along with leaders from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Held under favorable weather conditions, the state-level preliminary rehearsal gathered over 45,000 participants, including members from the military and public security blocs, mass organizations, and representatives of the armies of Laos, Cambodia, and the Russian Federation.

As part of the event, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security showcased a range of modern military equipment and combat vehicles, many of which were either domestically produced or upgraded through Vietnamese research and innovation.

After the parade and march-past formations passed the grandstand, they continued marching along key streets in central Hanoi amid the rip-roaring cheers of thousands of citizens who had lined the sidewalks, brimming with pride and patriotism.

After the preliminary rehearsal concluded, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other leaders of ministries and sectors met with the participating forces, offering words of encouragement and presenting gifts in recognition of their efforts.

The official full-dress rehearsal for the parade and march-past for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) is scheduled to take place on the morning of August 30 at Ba Dinh Square.
