On August 21, Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command, reported that heavy rains and storms from the night of August 20 to the morning of August 21 had developed complicatedly across communes in the province, particularly communes under the jurisdiction of the Headquarters of Defense Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4. Among them, communes in the areas of the Headquarters of Defense Zones 1 and 2 3 experienced prolonged heavy rainfall causing severe damage.

“In response to the situation, officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces, directly at Headquarters of Defense Zones 1 and 2, have deployed standing forces and militia units in coordination with relevant authorities to quickly arrive on site, assisting residents in relocating their belongings and mitigating the consequences of the natural disasters and floods” - Colonel Vo Thanh Danh added.

Through direct contact with the Defense Zone 1 Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Ong Van An, Commander of the Defense Zone 1 Headquarters, reported that from around 11:00 p.m. on August 20 to 7:00 a.m. on August 21, prolonged heavy rainfall in the area under the Defense Zone 1 Headquarters caused localized flooding in the following locations: Neighborhoods 5, 7, and 8 (Long Hung Ward); Huong Phuoc and Vuon Dua neighborhoods (Phuoc Tan Ward); Neighborhoods 6, 27, and 32 (Long Binh Ward); Hamlets An Lam and Xom Goc (Long Thanh Commune); Phuoc Binh 5 and Cau Vat Hamlets (Phuoc Thai Commune); Hamlets 1 and Tam An 5 (An Phuoc Commune); and the inter-hamlet road Bau Tre - Sa Ca (Binh An Commune).

Upon receiving the information, local military commands immediately mobilized over 100 officers and soldiers to coordinate with functional forces, promptly responding and helping people overcome the consequences of the natural disaster. At noon on August 21, no human casualties were reported. Regarding property, one level 4 house, valued at approximately 250 million VND, collapsed, while other damages are still being assessed.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Ong Van An, by noon on August 21, the situation had stabilized. Local militia forces, together with functional forces, continued to monitor the area closely, ensure security and order, assist residents in coping with the aftermath of the disaster, and relocate valuable property.
At the Defense Zone 2 Headquarters, localized flooding occurred in areas including Xuan Que, Xuan Lap, and several neighboring locations. No casualties have been reported, and property damage is still being assessed by the authorities. Notably, the provincial armed forces have remained on site to support residents in moving their belongings, maintain security, and reassure the community as they overcome difficulties caused by the natural disaster.
