More than 31,000 Dong Nai workers touched by the Union Meal program

On August 21, more than 31,000 workers in Dong Nai joined the Union Meal in a joyful and excited atmosphere. This activity was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, organized by the Grassroots Trade Union in coordination with enterprises.

At Pou Chen Vietnam Enterprise, Ltd. (Bien Hoa Ward), Provincial Party Committee member and Chairman of the Dong Nai Province Labor Federation Nguyen Quoc Dung, along with union officials, joined nearly 14,000 workers for the meal.

The meal was valued at 69,000 VND per portion. The menu included: fried chicken leg, fried fish, stir-fried vegetables, sour soup, along with desserts, milk, flan cake, and 1 pack of Yakult.

Many workers were delighted to share a meal with union officials, where they had the opportunity to express their thoughts and aspirations and be heard regarding their livelihoods and employment.

Nguyen Thi Thanh, a worker at Pou Chen Vietnam Enterprise, Ltd., said: Before the meal was organized, the union gathered feedback on the menu items and received enthusiastic support and anticipation from the workers. We hope the Union Meal will be held more frequently so that workers can enjoy more nutritious dishes to ensure their health.

On the same day, at Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Vien commune), the Grassroots Trade Union coordinated with the company’s Board of Directors to organize a Union Meal for more than 17,000 workers, valued at nearly 65,000 VND each.

On this occasion, the Grassroots Trade Union provided funding of 60,000,000 VND to support the construction of a Union Shelter for members facing housing difficulties, and presented 60 gifts to disabled workers, each valued at nearly 1 million VND.

Directly attending, offering encouragement, and sharing a meal with workers at Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd., Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Labor Federation Nguyen Duc Thang expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the company for partnering with the union to organize a warm and meaningful meal for the workers. He also encouraged them to actively engage in emulation movements, overcome challenges, foster creativity, work diligently, enhance productivity and product quality, and contribute to the enterprise’s growth.
