Lac Hong University’s team wins third prize at the ABU Robocon 2025 contest

On August 24, the final round of the 2025 ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) took place in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

With the theme "Basketball Warriors," this year's contest demanded a high level of direct confrontation. Teams were required to apply new technologies in robot design, while also demonstrating smart strategies and the ability to control the game from the very beginning.

The contest attracted 14 teams from 13 countries and territories. The Robocon team from Lac Hong University advanced through the group stage and quarterfinals to reach the semifinals, where they faced Japan. After a tense back-and-forth battle, Japan won 12–9, securing a place in the final against Hong Kong (China).

In the final results, Japan won the championship of this year's contest, the Hong Kong team took second place, and the Robocon team from Lac Hong University earned third place, sharing the position with host team Mongolia 2. In addition, the Vietnam Robocon team also received the ABU Robocon Award, selected by the ABU Council.
