Trade promotion activities aimed at expanding domestic and export markets for OCOP (One Commune One Product Program) products have received significant attention from Dong Nai Province. Enhancing trade promotion in connection with the “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” campaign will help local OCOP products reach and connect with potential partners and customer segments, thereby boosting promotion and improving supply-demand linkages for local goods.

Specialties and OCOP products nationwide showcased

From August 14 to 20, Dong Nai Province is hosting the Southeastern Region – Dong Nai 2025 Industry and Trade Fair. The event is organized under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Provincial People’s Committee. This is the first nationally designated trade promotion program to be held in Dong Nai since the provincial merger.

Deputy Director General of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) Le Hoang Tai emphasized: The fair serves as an opportunity to stimulate trade, seek business cooperation opportunities, and strengthen regional linkages within the Southeast in particular and the country in general. It serves as an effective bridge for the business community to access and explore the new potential of Dong Nai following the merger.

The fair features around 280 booths from provinces and cities across the country, promoting OCOP products and local specialties from localities such as Da Nang, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, An Giang, and Ca Mau.

Nguyen Thi Phuong Ngan, representative of Tan Tien Clean Salt Facility (Ninh Hai Commune, Khanh Hoa Province), shared: “We have brought to the fair our 3-star OCOP-certified salt product, along with specialty items made from local salt such as chili salt with lemongrass, chili salt with shrimp, chili salt with basil leaves, as well as our ready-to-eat dried shrimp. Through this fair, we hope to promote our products and connect with potential markets, especially in Dong Nai and other southern provinces and cities”.

Nguyen Ngoc Bao, owner of Bao Long Binh Thuan Production Facility (Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province), said: Our main products include fermented dragon fruit juice and dried dragon fruit. The fermented juice product has received 3-star OCOP certification. This fair provides a direct opportunity for us to connect with and seek distributors nationwide, while enhancing trade links among provinces and cities following the recent administrative restructuring.

For Dong Nai itself, the province has set up a shared provincial booth along with more than 30 individual booths from local businesses, focusing on specialties, OCOP products, and exemplary rural industrial goods.

The fair will feature many highlight activities, including exhibition areas showcasing production achievements, key products, and regional specialties from provinces and cities across the country; the introduction of industrial, agricultural, commercial, and OCOP products; thereby contributing to attracting investment and strengthening socio-economic linkages between Dong Nai and localities nationwide.

Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, Vu Ngoc Long, emphasized: This fair will create favorable conditions for trade promotion and connections between businesses, as well as between businesses and consumers. It will serve as a bridge for supply and demand to meet directly, thereby improving the efficiency of commercial transactions. At the same time, it will help enterprises better understand consumer preferences and customer demands, enabling them to improve and enhance product quality, develop new products, and expand. From there, it will support businesses in Dong Nai and across the country in strengthening their competitiveness in both domestic and international markets, while taking a proactive role in the process of global integration.

Unlocking new development potential

Organizing large-scale fairs and exhibitions, especially national-level trade promotion programs, will open up many opportunities for the province to tap into its potential in attracting investment, trade, and services. At the same time, it serves as a driving force for the province to further strengthen promotional activities in investment, trade, and tourism along key product chains, including local OCOP products.

Deputy Director General of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Le Hoang Tai, shared: Dong Nai Province now has great potential for economic development. In particular, the Southeastern Region – Dong Nai 2025 Industry and Trade Fair, as well as trade promotion activities in the current context, not only create opportunities for trade connections but also contribute to fostering linkages, driving innovation, and promoting sustainable development in the new period.

In addition, Dong Nai ranks among the leading provinces nationwide in the development of OCOP products. The province currently has 439 certified OCOP items, many of which have achieved 4- and 5-star ratings. Therefore, trade promotion activities play a crucial role in elevating Dong Nai’s OCOP products; supporting local enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities in building brands and expanding markets; as well as enabling the province’s strong products to reach international markets amid increasingly deep global integration.

Director of the Dong Nai Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, Duong Van Nhan, stated: To maximize the effectiveness of Dong Nai’s investment, trade, and tourism promotion, in the coming time we will continue to strengthen activities that foster trade connections, enhance and elevate the province’s key products, and improve regional linkages. At the same time, we will step up the application of technology in promoting and introducing the province’s investment, trade, and tourism programs.

Truong Van Thanh, Director of Nhu Hoang Agricultural Services Cooperative (Tho Son Commune, Dong Nai Province), said: Our salted roasted cashew product has achieved 4-star OCOP certification and has already been connected to many domestic and export markets. The cooperative hopes to participate in more trade connection activities both inside and outside the province, especially national-level trade promotion programs, in order to connect with major distributors, thereby developing our brand and enhancing the competitiveness of Dong Nai’s OCOP products.
