Ready for the First Commune Party Congress
Dong Phu Commune was formed by merging Tan Lap Commune, Tan Tien Commune, and Tan Phu Town of Dong Phu District, formerly part of Binh Phuoc Province. This undertaking marked an important step toward streamlining the administrative apparatus, improving governance efficiency, and promoting socio-economic development.
Following the merger, Dong Phu Commune spans an area of 13.866 square kilometers and is home to 13,164 households with a total population of 45,557. Of this population, ethnic minorities make up 1.62%, while religious communities account for 19.14%. The local Party Committee consists of 39 affiliated branches and cells, with a total of 1,095 members. The political and social apparatus at the grassroots level has been consolidated and is now functioning in a stable and orderly manner.
The industrial and construction sectors have experienced strong growth, serving as the driving force behind the commune’s economic structure. The entire commune hosts 485 manufacturing and processing enterprises, two industrial parks, and four industrial clusters with an occupancy rate exceeding 90%, attracting more than 100 investment enterprises and creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers. Industrial production value has steadily increased over the years, focusing on agro-forestry processing, garment manufacturing, wood products, packaging, and more. Industrial infrastructure has been comprehensively developed, with production technologies becoming increasingly modern. Significant attention has been given to investment and infrastructure development, with many key projects completed and put into operation, such as inter-regional roads, electricity and water systems, schools, health stations, cultural and sports centers, and cultural houses, all contributing to improved living standards for residents.
The achievements in recent years provide a solid foundation for the Party Committee, local authorities, and the people of Dong Phu to continue inheriting, promoting, and creating momentum for rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable development in the coming period. The first Party Congress of the Dong Phu Commune Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term takes place within the framework of a two-tier local government model, with new demands for a streamlined apparatus, effective and efficient operations, and a people-centered approach.
The draft political report for the first Party Congress of the Dong Phu Commune Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term outlines 18 key targets and tasks, including admitting at least 120 new Party members, achieving an average annual state budget revenue growth rate of 10–15%, reaching a per capita income of approximately 160 million VND per year, reducing the poverty rate to below 1% by 2030, and maintaining political security and social order and safety...
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Phu Commune Party Committee, Pham Van Tu, stated: “In accordance with directives from higher authorities, preparations for the Party Congress began early. Regarding the congress documents, we organized consultation conferences that involved many intellectuals and veteran community members. As a result, we received numerous thoughtful and insightful contributions across various fields. At this point, we are fully prepared to hold the congress.”
Striving to become a green and modern industrial commune
The post-merger context has opened up new development space, creating favorable conditions for comprehensive planning and investment attraction. Strategically located along the corridor connecting key economic regions and bordering Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Phu holds significant advantages to rise as the economic and administrative center of eastern Dong Nai Province.
Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Phu Commune Party Committee Pham Van Tu added: In the coming period, Dong Phu will promote growth and shift its economic structure to focus on rapid and sustainable development, gradually reducing the proportion of traditional agriculture while strongly increasing industry, trade, services, and urbanization. The commune will restructure its economy in association with the application of science and technology to improve the productivity, quality, and competitiveness of its products. Moreover, Dong Phu will develop clean, organic, high-tech agriculture, establishing specialized farming zones and stable production-consumption linkages. Priority will be given to cottage industries, logistics, and eco-tourism services linked to Suoi Giai Lake and inter-regional transport routes. The goal is to transform Dong Phu into a green and modern industrial commune.
In addition, the commune will continue to accelerate comprehensive digital transformation across all three pillars: digital government, digital economy, and digital society, viewing this as a key driver for rapid and sustainable development. Efforts will focus on building a modern, integrated digital infrastructure that ensures widespread connectivity to support governance, public service delivery, and economic growth. The commune will also complete the e-government platform, digitize data in state management, provide 100% of online public services at levels 3 and 4, and gradually move toward fully transparent and accessible services...
Nguyen Huu Tu, Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of Thang Loi Village, Dong Phu Commune, shared: “I hope that following the congress, the resolution will be promptly translated into concrete actions that directly reach the people. I also hope for greater attention to small and medium-sized enterprises, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the local economy.”
With the spirit of “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Innovation – Development,” the Party Committee and the people of Dong Phu Commune pledge to unite and strive forward with shared determination and aspiration, resolutely building Dong Phu into a green, modern industrial commune that advances rapidly and sustainably in the new tenure.
