Dong Nai’s forest area is the largest in the Southeast region

According to statistics from the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, after the provincial merger, Dong Nai has the largest forest area in the Southeast region. To be specific, the total area of forests and forestry land under the province’s three-forest-type zoning plan is nearly 349 thousand hectares, accounting for about 27% of the total natural area. This includes more than 135 thousand hectares of special-use forests, over 132 thousand hectares of production forests, with the remainder being protective forests. The forest coverage rate stands at over 25%.

Forests in the province are home to many rare and precious species of flora and fauna with high conservation value. Notable areas include Cat Tien National Park, Bu Gia Map National Park, and the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve.

In recent years, thanks to strengthened forest management and protection in the former Binh Phuoc and former Dong Nai province, forest area and coverage rates have been maintained, with no major violations causing serious damage to forest resources...
