Dong Nai Provincial delegation of NA Deputies supervises public asset management and use

On the afternoon of August 20, the supervisory delegation of the Dong Nai Provincial National Assembly (NA) Deputies, led by Bui Xuan Thon, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly Deputies, held a working session with the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of laws and policies regarding the management and use of public assets in the province from 2018 to December 31, 2024.

Also participating in the supervisory delegation as members were comrades Vu Hai Ha, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee; Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Deputy Affairs Committee; along with provincial National Assembly deputies and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Nguyen Kim Long, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from relevant departments and sectors.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, during the 2018-2024 period, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee issued numerous documents directing the implementation of legal regulations to agencies and organizations.

Regarding the management and use of office buildings and public service facilities, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee established the Provincial Steering Committee 167 while also developing plans to implement the arrangement and handling of housing and land belonging to agencies, organizations, units, localities, and enterprises across the province.

Regarding the 2024 comprehensive inventory of public assets, the management and use of automobiles, and the management of infrastructure assets, the Provincial People's Committee has also issued plans and decisions for implementation.

In addition to the results achieved, the report of the Provincial People's Committee also highlighted difficulties and obstacles in the management and use of public assets. Specifically, the system of legal regulations related to public assets is spread across multiple laws, and the overlap among laws in different sectors has led to inconsistencies and delays in implementation.

The regulations on standards and norms regarding specialized areas and assets in specific sectors, including healthcare, education and training, natural resources and agriculture, and construction, have not yet been fully issued. As a result, local authorities lack the basis for proper implementation.

Speaking at the working session, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial delegation of NA Deputies Bui Xuan Thong emphasized that the supervision of the implementation of policies and laws on the management and use of public assets in the province from 2018 to December 31, 2024, together with field surveys at several projects and facilities in the province, aims to identify difficulties, obstacles, and shortcomings in the implementation process in order to seek appropriate solutions.

Based on the survey results and actual findings, the supervision delegation will coordinate with relevant agencies to seek solutions in the coming time to effectively handle public assets.

Deputy Head of the Provincial delegation of NA Deputies Bui Xuan Thong stated that issues falling under the authority of each level will be coordinated with relevant agencies at that level for resolution. For matters under higher-level authority, the Provincial delegation of NA Deputies will make recommendations to the competent authority for appropriate solutions.

On the same day, the supervisory delegation of the Provincial National Assembly Deputies conducted on-site inspections at several projects and facilities, including the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway Project; a review of the management, use, and allocation of facilities at Dong Nai Medical College; and a survey of the former headquarters of the Dong Nai Tax Department.
