In the first half of the year, population affairs across the province experienced many positive changes. The number of third or subsequent births decreased by 64 compared to the same period last year. The total number of new users of modern contraceptive methods reached 254,618, achieving 107% of the annual target in the former Dong Nai area. Meanwhile in the former Binh Phuoc area, 64,751 people were recorded, reaching 87% of the target.

In addition, reproductive health care and nutrition continued to achieve encouraging results. The rate of pregnant women attending all four prenatal checkups across the three stages of pregnancy reached 93%. As many as 99.9% of women gave birth with the direct assistance of trained medical staff; 95.5% of mothers and newborns received home care during the first week after birth. Notably, the rate of underweight and stunted children under five continued to decline compared to the set targets…

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Health, acknowledged the efforts and positive results of grassroots healthcare units in recent times. She also requested that units focus on synchronously implementing tasks to comprehensively achieve the set goals for 2025, particularly the national target programs on nutrition, population, and reproductive health.

Units need to proactively address difficulties at the grassroots level; in particular, unit directors are responsible for reviewing and developing specific, detailed plans for targets and training needs. Based on this, the Department of Health will arrange and coordinate suitable training courses to meet practical requirements. Regarding finance, units must allocate appropriately and disburse funds on schedule according to the approved plan, ensuring efficiency and timeliness in professional work.
