The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Dong Nai has received an official dispatch from the Vietnam Paralympic Committee regarding the nomination of coaches and athletes for the Oita International Wheelchair Marathon.

The letter states that to develop further wheelchair racing disciplines, established and practiced in Vietnam since 1995, the Vietnam Paralympic Committee’s International Board has coordinated with its Japanese counterpart to receive support for participation in the half-marathon wheelchair race (21.5 km) held in Oita City, Japan.

The Vietnam Paralympic Committee has requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai to facilitate Nguyen Van Bich’s participation in the event in Oita, Japan, from November 13 to 16, 2025. To ensure the athlete can fully compete in the men’s 21.5 km wheelchair half-marathon, the department has also been asked to provide training support and funding for Nguyen Van Bich.

Over the years, Nguyen Van Bich has consistently achieved outstanding results in both national and provincial competitions. Notably, the disabled athlete from Dong Nai won a gold medal in the 800m event and a silver medal in the 200m wheelchair race in the T54 category at the 2024 National Championships for Athletics, Archery, Blind Judo, and Boccia for Athletes with Disabilities.
