Corps 16 launches fundraising campaign in support of the Cuban people

On the afternoon of August 27, the Party Committee and Command of Corps 16 held a fundraising launch ceremony to support the people of Cuba across the entire unit.

Colonel Trinh Pham Hoa, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Commander of Corps 16, attended the event and officially launched the campaign in response to the "65 Years of Vietnam-Cuba Solidarity" program and the appeal issued by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Trinh Pham Hoa emphasized that over the past decades, Vietnam and Cuba have stood shoulder to shoulder, sharing both hardship and triumph in the struggle for national liberation and national development. This fundraising campaign not only offers timely and practical support to the Cuban people during a difficult period but also serves to strengthen and deepen the time-honored and special bond of friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. This priceless legacy has been passed down through generations past.

According to the plan, agencies and units within the corps will intensify information dissemination and encourage officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted personnel, civilian defense staff, and workers to contribute voluntarily and in accordance with their individual capacities, ensuring the campaign is meaningful and effective.

The campaign to mobilize and collect donations will run from August 27 to September 25, 2025. All contributions will be consolidated by Corps 16 and transferred to the Ministry of National Defense in accordance with regulations, contributing to efforts to ease hardship and further strengthen the special bond of solidarity and friendship between the militaries and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.
