(ĐN) - The Southern Expressway Projects Management Unit (SEPMU), under the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), has issued Official Document No. 728/SEPMU/QLTCMB dated August 26, 2025, requesting feedback from relevant authorities on the proposed traffic management plan during the construction of two bidding packages under the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project.

According to SEPMU, the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project currently has no remaining land along the route for building service roads to support construction activities. Specifically, Package XL01 covers the section from the Ring Road 2 interchange to the end of Long Thanh Bridge, while Package XL02 covers the section from beyond Long Thanh Bridge to the interchange with the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway. As a result, construction access will have to be made directly via the existing Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.

To facilitate the next steps of the project, SEPMU has submitted a traffic safety and management plan for the two packages to the relevant agencies for consultation. The plan outlines provisions for personnel and equipment access, traffic control procedures, and the installation of signage, barriers, and fencing at construction sites.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project spans approximately 22 kilometers, running through both Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province. With a total investment of nearly  15 trillion VND, the project officially broke ground on August 19, 2025.
