On the morning of August 9, a working delegation of the Provincial People’s Committee, led by comrade Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, visited and encouraged officers and soldiers at border guard posts in the province.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Duc, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command and concurrently Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, reported: the Provincial Border Guard is responsible for managing and protecting over 258.9 km of borderline. This includes one international border gate, two main border gates, one auxiliary border gate, and one border crossing point.

Border areas after the recent administrative merger comprise eight communes of Bu Gia Map, Đak O, Hung Phuoc, Thien Hung, Tan Tien, Loc Tan, Loc Thanh, and Loc Thanh, with population of over 34,849 households and more than 134,500 residents.

Recently, Dong Nai Border Guard has coordinated with functional forces to effectively manage and protect borderlines and landmarks, while also worked with neighboring Cambodia border provinces to jointly manage, prevent and combat crime. In the first seven months of 2025, party committee and command level of units of the Provincial Border Guard strictly maintained combat readiness according to regulations, protect borders and localities, especially during holidays, festivals, and significant national, local, and force events.

In addition, the Provincial Border Guard has carried out effective mass mobilization work, propaganda; notably, it is currently caring for 11 children under the “Border Guard Post’s Adopted Children” program, along with many activities aimed at building a strong “border defense posture” and “people’s security posture,” contributing to protecting security and safety of border areas.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Vo Tan Duc acknowledged and praised the results achieved by the Provincial Border Guard Command in recent times. The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested that, in the context of the new situation, the Border Guard continue to lead, organize, deeply grasp, and strictly implement higher-level directives on the tasks of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security. Following the administrative merger and reorganization of local military units, the Border Guard must promptly stabilize its structure and effectively carry out all assigned tasks.

Comrade Vo Tan Duc suggested the Border Guard to continue enhancing its role as the specialized force in border sovereignty and security protecting work; to lead the comprehensive and synchronized implementation of border guard measures; and to manage and protect border in accordance with the administrative units after merger and as assigned by the Border Guard High Command.

In addition, Comrade Vo Tan Duc requested the Border Guard to closely coordinate with functional forces to promptly and effectively handle situations and incidents, preventing complications or unexpected situations. He emphasized strengthening defense and border diplomacy in line with Party and government’s policies and views  in relation with the Cambodia armed forces, building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developed border. The Border Guard should also continue to effectively advise the Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee on border gate and border protection, external affairs, and socio-economic development in border areas.

On this occasion, comrade Vo Tan Duc presented gifts to border guard posts, namely Hoang Dieu, Phuoc Thien, Bu Dop, Thanh Hoa, and Tan Thanh, as well as several militia posts and residential areas adjacent to the border.
