Building a prosperous Phu Vinh Commune in the new era

On the morning of August 9, the Party Committee of Phu Vinh Commune, Dong Nai Province, held the 1st Congress of the Commune Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, attended and directed the congress. Also present were Provincial Party Committee members: Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council Tran Van Mi; Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang; leaders of the provincial Party Committees, the Provincial People’s Committee, neighboring communes, and 123 official delegates representing the commune’s 396 Party members.

The political report of the Congress of the Phu Vinh Commune Party Committee reviewed the implementation of the resolution for the 2020–2025 term of the two communes, including Phu Tan and Phu Vinh, prior to their merger into Phu Vinh Commune. Despite facing numerous challenges, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, global economic fluctuations, and surging prices of raw materials, the Party Committees of the two communes made concerted efforts in leadership and governance, achieving many positive results. Most targets were basically met or exceeded, with several achieved ahead of schedule.

Notably, both communes completed their goals of building model new-style rural communes according to the set roadmap. Party and government building, social security, culture, and national defense-security were all given due attention and firmly maintained.

For the 2025–2030 term, the Congress of the Phu Vinh Commune Party Committee adopted the motto: “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Breakthrough – Development”.

The general goal is to build a strong Party and political system, focus on economic development as the central task, and apply science, technology, and digital transformation as the driving force.

Some specific targets include: an average annual growth rate of the total product value of 10% or higher, and an average production value per hectare of cultivated land reaching VND 250 million/year by 2030.

In his address to the congress, Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, emphasized that the Phu Vinh Commune Party Committee must clearly define the commune’s position, role, and competitive advantages in the new development landscape, knowing what the locality has and what it needs; identifying both opportunities and challenges to devise programs, plans, and solutions that are practical and aligned with reality. Accordingly, the commune should focus on developing a multi-sector economy; capitalize on its advantageous location between major economic centers and convenient transport links to foster rapid, sustainable, and focused economic growth; and continue restructuring the economy, prioritizing agricultural development alongside services and tourism.

In addition, the commune should quickly stabilize its organizational structure, unify ideology, leverage the unique strengths of each former locality, and effectively address identified shortcomings and limitations. More importantly, it must soon complete a streamlined, efficient, and effective government apparatus that maintains close ties with the people, being near, engaged, and attentive, worthy of being one of Dong Nai Province’s leading communes in building model new-style rural areas.

The commune will continue building a cadre team with integrity, competence, vision, and credibility, matching words with actions, especially among young officials; promoting democracy within the Party while strictly upholding discipline and order; and strengthening inspection and supervision work.

On this occasion, Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, along with Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council Tran Van Mi, and Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, presented the Phu Vinh Commune Party Committee with a flower bouquet and inscribed banner from the Provincial Party Committee Executive Board bearing the words: “Solidarity, democracy, discipline, breakthrough, mobilizing all resources to build Phu Vinh Commune into a prosperous community in the new era”.
