Bu Gia Map is a border commune covering more than 34,250 hectares with a population of over 8,000, 75% of whom are ethnic minorities, mainly S’tieng and M’nong people.

During the 2020-2025 term, amid a mix of favorable conditions, difficulties, and challenges, the Party Committee, local government, and people of Bu Gia Map Commune made concerted efforts to achieve many important results. The economic structure remained stable, with agriculture and forestry accounting for 85 percent and trade–services 15 percent. Average per capita income reached 28.5 million VND per year, an increase of 3 million VND compared to the start of the term, while the poverty rate fell to 7.15 percent. Rural infrastructure saw marked improvements. National defense and security were maintained, with strict management of the border and landmarks.

Alongside socio-economic development, the Commune Party Committee placed strong emphasis on Party building and political system development. During the term, 30 new members were admitted, bringing the total Party membership to 162. Patriotic emulation movements, the “Clever Mass Mobilisation” campaign, and the “All People Unite to Build New Countryside” movement were implemented extensively, fostering unity and trust among the people.

For the 2025-2030 term, Bu Gia Map Commune has set the goal of comprehensive, sustainable development, effectively tapping the potential and advantages of its border area, and linking economic growth with the safeguarding of national defense and security. The commune aims to complete the national target programme on new rural development by 2029; raise average per capita income to 57.85 million VND per year; reduce the poverty rate to below 5 percent; and increase forest coverage to 86.94 percent. In addition, Bu Gia Map will strongly develop ecotourism in association with the preservation of forest resources and ethnic cultural identity, gradually establishing community tourism routes and destinations to create new livelihoods for local people.

Under the motto “Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Development,” Bu Gia Map will pursue three strategic breakthroughs: linking economic growth with ecotourism; investing in transport, utilities, schools, and healthcare; and developing clean agriculture with applied science and technology.

In his directive remarks at the congress, Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, called on the Commune Party Committee to maintain unity and clearly define key objectives and tasks in line with the “six transparencies” principle: clear responsibility, clear personnel, clear timelines, clear accountability, clear products, and clear authority. He stressed the need to proactively leverage advantages, mobilize resources, ensure border security, and improve people’s livelihoods, with firm resolve to make Bu Gia Map a model border commune that is comprehensively developed and strong in the new period.
