According to the decision, the Ma Da bridge construction investment project, including the bridge structure and connecting roads, will begin at the intersection with Provincial Road 753 and end at the connection route linking Ma Da bridge to Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 4. The project spans the communes of Tan Loi and Tri An in Dong Nai province.
Classified as a category-C transportation project, the Ma Da bridge is designed to meet grade III standards with a planned speed limit of 80 km/h. In the first phase of investment, the bridge will feature a cross-section width of 20.5 meters, comprising four lanes for motorized vehicles and two for non-motorized traffic, a median strip, and safety railings. The approach roads will also be constructed to include 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for primitive vehicles on either side, along with a central divider and roadside shoulders. Furthermore, the project will include the development of other supporting infrastructure.
According to the approved decision, the Ma Da bridge project has a total investment of over VND 133 billion. The first phase is scheduled for implementation from 2025 to 2027. The subsequent completion phase will be considered based on an evaluation of the initial phase’s effectiveness. The Dong Nai Provincial Project Management Board has been assigned as the project’s investor representative.
According to the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the investment in building the Ma Da bridge aims to improve transportation connectivity between the former Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces (before administrative restructuring). The project is expected to create a seamless transport network across the new Dong Nai province, thereby meeting the travel and transport needs of local residents.
At the same time, the project will help form a key interregional transport axis connecting the Central Highlands provinces with Long Thanh International Airport and Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port. This is expected to facilitate the expansion of interprovincial logistics infrastructure, support the development of industrial zones, and drive socio-economic growth across the region.
