Since the beginning of this year, various cultural institutions in Dong Nai have actively implemented digital technology solutions to archive, introduce, and promote the cultural and historical values of the province.
Virtual exhibitions, digital libraries, and installing QR codes at heritage sites to building virtual tours, these initiatives are significantly transforming the way people access and engage with culture.

Virtual spaces – real artifacts and stories
In 2025, Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema has launched a series of virtual exhibitions focusing on themes such as Dong Nai’s culture and people – historical imprints, Don ca tai tu – the soul of Southern Vietnam. These exhibitions are designed in 3D format combined with sound effects, recreating Dong Nai’s cultural space in an accessible and engaging way. Viewers can explore these virtual exhibitions anytime, anywhere.
Director Ton Thi Thanh Tinh of Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema shared that in recent years, the center has prioritized the application of technology in developing virtual exhibitions. Notable exhibitions include The Communist Party of Vietnam – historical milestones, Seas and islands – the heart of Vietnam, The country in joy, and Dong Nai – a land of culture and people. These exhibitions have been made available on the center’s website and social media platforms, allowing the public to access Dong Nai’s rich cultural and historical heritage through digital channels.
Moreover, digital technology opens new opportunities for interaction and discovery in a modern and appealing manner. In addition to virtual exhibitions, the center has also been actively livestreaming cultural and mobile propaganda performances on its official fanpage. Since early July, over 10 performances have been held in wards of Phuoc Tan, Binh Phuoc, Dong Xoai and in communes of Ta Lai, Dong Tam, Hung Thinh, Phu Ly, Tan Tien, Loc Thanh, and Xuan Phu.
“In the coming time, the center will continue to develop digital exhibition formats while strengthening collaboration with local authorities and schools to bring culture closer to the community. Our goal is to inspire pride in Dong Nai among every resident,” said Ms. Tinh.
Livestreaming on Facebook has also proven to be an effective method adopted by the Dong Nai Art Theater for many years. Hundreds of art performances and dozens of cai luong plays and excerpts have been introduced via this platform and archived there. Both local and national audiences can enjoy and revisit these cultural programs, featuring the essence of Dong Nai’s cultural identity at any time.
Expanding storage and access to cultural and historical content
At the Dong Nai Library, digitization efforts are gaining momentum. Thousands of books on Dong Nai’s history and culture have been digitized and integrated with QR codes, allowing readers to search and access materials remotely. In particular, in 2025, the library introduced an interactive model for historical experiences using touchscreens and virtual reality technology. This not only improves information storage but also enriches the learning and research experience for readers.
Similarly, many heritage sites across the province have been equipped with QR codes that allow visitors to retrieve information directly at the site. Each QR code serves as a compact archive, enabling tourists to learn about the site’s value independently without relying on tour guides.
The Dong Nai Museum has also built virtual tours of various heritage sites, allowing people from distant locations to visit online. This is a creative and effective approach, especially in the context of digital transformation and global integration.
Director Le Thi Ngoc Loan of Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated “Following the recent restructuring, the department continues to accelerate digital transformation in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism. This includes the completion of a sectoral database, ensuring full integration with the national database system, and applying geographic information systems (GIS) in the management, protection, and promotion of cultural heritage.”
Pham Van Minh, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Museum, said that the museum has been digitizing its collections, prioritizing significant artifacts. After the digitization process, the museum plans to develop virtual display spaces in its thematic exhibition rooms. This initiative not only enhances the preservation and sustainable storage of artifacts, but also broadens public access, particularly for younger generations, through online platforms.
Digital technology is playing an increasingly vital role in expanding the spaces where Dong Nai’s cultural and historical heritage is preserved and shared. It not only follows global trends but also serves as a long-term solution to safeguard and promote cultural and historical values for future generations.
