(ĐN)- Trang Bom is the province’s largest area for tissue-cultured banana cultivation and is also home to extensive plantations of fruit and industrial crops such as grapefruit, cocoa, and cashew. As market demand increases for clean agricultural products, the district plans to increase the area of farms with organic standard certification to enhance product quality and promote sustainable agricultural development.

Farmers in communes of Thanh Binh, Trung Hoa, Dong Hoa, and Song Trau have gradually shifted from traditional practices to organic farming models, avoiding chemical fertilizers and synthetic pesticides. Several cooperatives and farming groups have coordinated with relevant authorities to establish planting area codes and implement product traceability systems, enabling exports to demanding markets such as South Korea, Japan, and Europe.
This organic approach not only ensures food safety and higher income for farmers but also improves soil quality, protects ecosystems, and safeguards the health of agricultural workers.
To accelerate the transition, Trang Bom has issued a range of support policies to develop agricultural value chains and plans to boost organic and high-tech agriculture. Local agencies also organize training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events to help farmers adopt and implement organic farming effectively.
According to Chairman Le Ngoc Tien of the Trang Bom district People’s Committee, the district has identified key production areas for organic farming such as grapefruit-growing zones in Song Thao, Bau Ham, and Trung Hoa, and banana-growing zones in Thanh Binh, Cay Gao, and Song Thao. The district also facilitates clean produce distribution through supermarket chains and safe product supply networks. An increasing number of farmers are recognizing the benefits of organic agriculture and are voluntarily shifting to this model, contributing to a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable agricultural sector in the region.
