On January 17, at Ta Thiet Base in Loc Thanh commune, the Dong Nai Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs held a conference to review its work in 2025 and deploy tasks for 2026. The meeting was chaired by Le Truong Son, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Head of the Dong Nai Provincial Steering Committee for Border Affairs.

On the morning of January 16, the 10th Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council held its ninth thematic session at the provincial convention centre. To ensure the timely completion of Phase 1 of Long Thanh International Airport and its commencement of commercial operations in June 2026, the Ministry of Construction has requested the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to continue directing contractors to mobilize additional manpower and construction equipment, particularly for Packages 4.8 and 5.10. At its 10th session, the 15th National Assembly voted to pass the Law on Disease Prevention No. 114/2025/QH15, which will take effect on July 1, 2026. This is a law of major significance, establishing a comprehensive legal foundation for disease prevention, with a shift in approach from “responding through examination and treatment” to “proactive disease prevention”, placing people at the centre.
