Of the figure, natural forests cover increase nearly 12 percent from 110,400 ha to 123,500 ha while planted forests up 28.5 percent from 35,500 ha to 45,600 ha.
Localities seeing the planted forest area increases were Long Thanh, Nhon Trach, Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts.
Dong Nai is now exerting efforts in growing more forests while preserving protective ones. Currently, the province’s forest coverage reached nearly 30 percent.
