Long Hoa Pagoda handed over a house worth VND50 million to a poor family in Phuoc An Ward, Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province on December 31.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, head monk of the pagoda Thich Nu Hue Hieu said: “This is a charitable program based on the Buddhism spirit that ‘other people’s happiness is your happiness’ and the tradition of helping underprivileged people.”
Vo Thanh Hoa, chairwoman of the Nhon Trach District Women’s Union, said she thanked the pagoda, generous sponsors and Buddhists for contributing to improving the life of disadvantaged locals.
Long Hoa Pagoda is located at 222 Hung Vuong Street, Hiep Phuoc Town. In addition to building homes for the poor, the pagoda has implemented many other programs such as giving scholarships to needy students, donating gifts to children during the Mid-Autumn festival, providing free health examinations for underprivileged people, and organizing spring programs for the elderly.
