As part of an AFD-funded project worth €25 million, the E-Learning Building meets the demand for an eco-friendly and energy-saving building.

The project has financed reform efforts and renovation of five vocational schools in Viet Nam so they can meet international standards.
The college is one of the first vocational training colleges in the country to be granted management autonomy.
Established in 1986 in the provinces Long Thanh District, the college became a public school under the Ministry of Construction in 2010.
With about 4,500 students, the school offers 20 occupations with five types of qualifications: diploma in practical engineering, diploma in international graduate studies, diploma in professional studies, certificate for technical workers, certificate for short-termtechnical training courses.
Nguyen Khanh Cuong, rector of the college, said the school had gradually adapted the programmes to international standards.
“Thanks to AFD funding, our school was able to build an energy-efficient building, and to promote welding and telecommunication subsidiaries to French standards, serving the proposed Long Thanh Airport Project, in close partnership with the business community,” he said.
A quarter of the total population is aged between 15 and 29.
As such, the modernisation of vocational training centres is urgently needed to meet the requirements of the countrys development, integration with international training system and demands of thefourth industrialrevolution.
"We are proud that our funding for the modernisation of vocational training schools in Viet Nam directly serves youth and the future of the country,” said Fabrice Richy, director of AFD in Viet Nam.
AFD is a public financial institution that implements policies of the French Government and works to improve the lives of people and promote sustainable development.
It carries out more than 4,000 development projects in 110 countries and territories via a network of 85 agencies.
Present in Viet Nam since 1994, AFD has financed 86 projects worth nearly €2.1billion in many fields such as transport, infrastructure, education, energy and agriculture.
A job fair and a roundtable discussion discussing “Challenges and perspectives ofthe vocational training sector in Viet Nam”, was organised at the E-Building on the same day.
The event was held by AFD in Viet Nam and Lilama 2International TechnologyCollege, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Invalid and Social Affairs andDirectorate of Vocational EducationandTraining.
