(ĐN)- A launch ceremony for Work Safety and Hygiene Action Month 2017, the first of its kind, has been held late last week at Dong Nai Conference Centre. Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hoa Hiep of the provincial People’s Committee attended the event.
This year, the event will focus on enhancing training on workplace safety and hygiene to prevent accidents and diseases.
There were 1,283 work-related accidents and 21 cases of fire in the province last year, killing 28 people and injuring 1,287 others, causing an estimated loss of more than VND12.7 billion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman asked localities and trade unions at all levels should diversify communication methods to raise awareness of labour safety and hygiene among workers and employers, improve working conditions and guarantee rights for workers.
On this occasion, five collectives received certificates of merit from Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for their outstanding achievements in the green-clean-nice emulation movement to assure labour safety and hygiene.
