Over VND124 bln for humanitarian and charitable activities

During 40 years of establishment and development, Dong Nai Red Cross Association developed 265 agencies with more than 131,000 members. In 2016, the association raised more than VND124 billion for relief, healthcare and humanitarian activities, fulfilling 109 percent of the year’s plan.

Particularly, the association provided relief aid and presented gifts to some 244,000 people, awarded scholarships to 5,500 scholarships, built 116 houses, gave more than 589 free meals to poor patients and offered free medical check-ups to hundreds of thousands of needy people.

On this occasion, 40 individuals were awarded campaign medals for their contributions to the association’s activities
