(ĐN)- The Vietnam Women’s Union on October 18 organized a ceremony in Ha Noi to mark its 86th founding anniversary and award Vietnam Women's Award 2016.
The events were attended by Politburo member and President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Among 6 collectives and 10 individuals awarded the prize was Ms. Do Ngoc Thanh Phuong, Head of Department for Standards, Metrology, and Quality under Dong Nai provincial Department of Science and Technology. This is the first time one woman in Dong Nai province to receive such a noble award.
Phuong was awarded the prize for her outstanding performance in combating illegal petrol trading as well her technological measures in preventing this kind of fraud.
In addition, Phuong also brought out technological measures to detect and prevent dozens of gold trading businesses who commit in trading under-quality gold jewelry in Dong Nai and HCM city. This year, she was awarded Prime Minister’s certificate for her contribution in combating petrol trading fraud.
Phuong’s measures of combating illegal petrol trading have been popularized and duplicated nationwide by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
