(ĐN)- Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh shared the joy of entering the 2016-2017 school year with students at Luong The Vinh high school in Bien Hoa city at an opening ceremony held on September 5 morning.
The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Head Bui Truong Giang of Administration Department of the President Office, Standing Deputy Secretary Tran Van Tu of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, and Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hoa Hiep of the provincial People’s Committee.
On this occasion, State President Truong Tan Sang has sent a letter to teachers, students, their parents and staff working in the education sector.
In his letter, the President said the sector needs to focus on developing human resources, especially high-quality personnel, tightening disciplines and paying attention to teaching morality, soft skills, citizen’s conscience and responsibility. He also wished students nationwide to make tireless efforts to attain great achievements in study and scientific research towards a better life and a more prosperous country.
Addressing at the ceremony, Vice President hailed the school’s achievements and called upon the school to continue improving their comprehensive education, asking the teachers to increase their knowledge and teaching skills, and the students to be more active learners.
She emphasised that this academic year would be the first time the country had implemented the 12th Party National Congress’ resolutions on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training to meet the demands of national industrialization and modernization in the context of global integration.
On this occasion, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh awarded 30 scholarships to studious poor students.
