(ĐN)- Dong Nai has recently launched a series of events to mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (November 16).
Accordingly, a memorial service was held by the provincial Traffic Safety Committee on November 15 for the victims of fatal road accidents.
At the ceremony, participants observed a one-minute silence in honour of those who had died of traffic accidents.
On this occasion, the provincial Traffic Safety Committee presented 30 gifts worth VND1 million each to traffic accident victims who are being treated at Dong Nai General Hospital.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh called upon agencies at all levels, organizations, and members of the public to raise awareness on the regulations on traffic safety and order, ensure safety for others and for themselves.
Earlier, ceremonies to commemorate victims of fatal road accidents were held in Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc, Trang Bom and Nhon Trach districts.
Localities also sent delegations to visit and gave gifts to families of traffic accident victims.
