(ĐN)- Over the past four years, Tan Phu district has devised a number of measures to reduce poverty and brought the local impoverished household rate to 2.7 percent in 2014 from 22.7 percent in 2010.
(ĐN)- Over the past four years, Tan Phu district has devised a number of measures to reduce poverty and brought the local impoverished household rate to 2.7 percent in 2014 from 22.7 percent in 2010.
Its efforts included providing direct financial and housing assistance to local poor households for settlement and production development.
Accordingly, 649 impoverished households were provided new homes worth a total of over VND17 billion. Another 7,600 individuals were provided with preferential loans totaling VND96 billion to stimulate economic development, reported the district’s Office of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Around 532 targeted households have also received production-aided financial packages totaling over VND5 billion.
Besides, the district has strengthened the involvement of various resources in localities and the implementation of the grassroots projects to ensure long-term sustainability and effectiveness of the projects and programmes on poverty reduction.
