Every year, Dong Nai has plans to plant forests and shady trees across the province. The province plants additional 500,000 shady trees of various kinds annually, covering 500 hectares of forests.
The province is now home to some 178,000 ha of forest with forest coverage of nearly 30% and green tree coverage of 56%, 4% higher than the Government’s plan until 2020.
Dong Nai is one of the localities in the country to shut down forests for over 10 years with the aim to protects forests as well as to protect “green lung” in the Southeastern region.
